Run! Posts: 1,434 Group: Members Member #1,313 Joined: Oct 10, 2009	I always hear bad things about World of Warcraft, i hear it's a bad Game and stuff. I personally think that's stupid. Yes, the Game maybe can ruin your life, but that's only because it's so great. There is so much stuff you can do, you're never bored. I just can' understand this. The Music is excellent, the Story is excellent, Replay value is unlimited, the Gameplay is fun. I mean everything in this game (except the dated graphics) is great. Then why do all these people say it sucks? Discuss.

And if you say to ppl in real life that you play wow, try to see how they would look in there face You will be in the same boat as all those who have no life... And is so true!! So hard!!, to pick this game up and only played it for 1 hour and than go back to your "normal" life. Wow is one of those game I love, and keep coming back too! I always stop playing, and take some break from it. so i can injoy friends and real life as well THE GAME DO NOT SUCK, IT JUST SUCK TO PLAY IT!!! hehe

Warcraft is the iconic MMORPG that has been maligned for causing gaming addiction, though to be fair Everquest was doing that long before. I am not into MMORPGs myself since I find it hard to commit time to the console games I have, but I don't hate it just because others love it. Yes, I'm sure it has bugs, glitches, and annoying trolls who ruin the gaming experience, but that's what you buy into when playing online games. I'd give it a chance if I could commit the time.

Most of the population that I knew on my old server in the opening two or three years have stopped playing long before I did. The major reason for WoW being so popular, in my opinion, is not that it's that great of a game. It's that out of several everquest clones, it's the best done everquest clone (I'm comparing it to other MMO's, not saying it's a great game.) And when people just getting into video games ask their friends what games they can play together, a lot of the time it's World of Warcraft. I played since launch of the original game. It was a great game back in the day. However, in my opinion, the popularity is not caused by game quality anymore, in fact if the people I've seen come and go is any sign, the populations have completely switched and most of the players these days don't know what to compare the new game to. What I mean to say is, it's based on word of mouth now. Not game quality. People would rather play a game that their friends already play than some new thing coming out. (Keep in mind, when I played I had leveled (and raided with) a Protection Warrior in the original game, a Feral Druid in the Burning Crusade expansion, and an Enhancement/Restoration Shaman in the WotLK expansion, so I've pretty much ran course of the game and it's content up until now. It's also suppose to have bad graphics because that is suppose to add to the fun of it. I have been playing wow for about 2 years before I stopped about a month ago waiting for the next expansion. So far my life has been less stressful. That does not mean I think the game is bad. I think that the game is fun while you are leveling up but once you hit level 80 all the game is about is getting gear and well that's not all that fun.

They dislike how "easy" it is and miss the days of EQ where if you die it meant huge losses. From what I hear though WoW has gone downhill over the years. I was an original player back in the original game and it dominated my life and was amazing in alot of ways. The expansions changed the game in alot of ways.

Level 4 Posts: 361 Group: Members Member #1,325 Joined: Oct 14, 2009	it does not get boring you say?? to me it got boring right after i hit like 40 level... didnt find it fun any more, all you do is farm and grind. dont get me wrong it has its perks, wow is a game that is hated by many but also loved by many and you saying it "might" ruin your life is a big understatment, i know many ppl that are now really.. just fuc*t up by this game, there is a dude in my school who seriously plays the game from the end of school around 3 pm to 2-4 am in the morning, i mean god dam. and the raids take for so long. if you can still control the gaming its alright. and wow is not underrated it just got its fare share of haters and lovers...

I have played since vanilla and never had any problems with quitting when i want to. And yes i have been a hardcore raider to, it's just a matter of will.

Didn't I just respond to a topic about Uncharted being over-rated? lol Anyways I watched one of my friends play it and I play it a small amount, but I just never really got into it myself. Actually I was a City of Heroes/City of Villains player for a few years. I haven't played that in about five months or so and even then I wasn't playing regularly at all. Yet I still have active account...I don't know why. I did have a lot of good heroes and memories with it, maybe someday I just may get a urge to play it. Anyways WoW is alright for what it is. I can see the allure of it, but I just never got hooked on it. I played City of Heroes for long periods of time, but it felt like I was getting more accomplished even if it just became grinding after awhile or trying to simply maximize your exp (even if that meant replaying missions over and over again).
	Slowbeef: Hold on it's the evil wizard who's spinning and striking a pose. And also giant swords, why the hell not. . ~Retsupurae on Earnest Evans, a wacky game!~

They were also typing in the message box that they were a cute couple, and were crying. This was followed by fireworks going off in the background. Never touched it again. Horrifying.

The world can provide some great PVP on PVP servers under the right conditions. Like any multi player game some of the fun depends widely on the people you play with or against. I've juggled Wow and Everquest 2 as my 2nd MMO sub ( I have 4 EVE-Online Accounts ). I've also maxed several City of Heroes and several Star Wars Galaxies accounts. Toss Age of Conan up to lvl 40 after it came out and some Lord of the Rings. Everquest 2 has done nothing but become more like WoW for the past 2 years. Lord of the Rings, while very well done, has been a WoW clone since day 1. Age of Conan is a bit different, but is ran by Funcom.... Right now the two MMO's to beat is World of Warcraft and EVE-Online. The companies are solvent, they care about their product, and each patch and expansion improve on the core gameplay and/or content. If you can find fault in Wow... it is probably the dark side of being an addictive MMO. Overrated... no.
