Singularity; Worth checking out?

I just finished watching the Classic Game Room HD review of Singularity and my interest has been piqued. It looks like my kind of game - a sci-fi shooter with emphasis on a good single player campaign, rather than a multiplayer shooter with a single player campaign tacked on. Mark from Classic Game Room likened it to Bioshock crossed with the new Wolfenstein game.

Has anyone here played it? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

If you enjoy Singleplayer FPS games that aren't more of the same(I.E it has no regenerating health, not trying to be realistic) and you enjoy games by Raven Software, you will enjoy it, I personally loved it.

I haven't watched his video yet, though I have been subbed to him for a long time since he is hilarious, the video he did of the cheerios game with his dog was awesome!

I can tell you it is worth checking out, maybe rent first before buying because it CAN be a miss, but the dynamics are quite cool, and the story is pretty interesting with these types of dictators, you never know if the role you are taking on is really beneficial. I also like that controlling time power...though I guess it's not really super time control, but you can re establish stair wells and what not to their original state, or turn them back into rubble.

Some of the puzzle solving elements are pretty neat in the game too, there are parts that are really unique where you will think "ah, that's pretty cool." The guns at first seem to not work well, at least I found, I just kept pumping the guys with bullets without much happening. Once you start upgrading them it gets better. Also the gun in which you shoot and it gives you the point of view of the bullet in which you can actually direct it's path is bad ass and just plain fun.

I only played a bit at my buds, and than he eventually let me shoot some from that gun when he was further in, it was awesome.

I'm on the fence about it, but if you do end up buying it I'd recommend doing it at Kmart. $35 for this week only!

I want to check it out after seeing the Giantbomb Quicklook of it since it reminds me of Metro 2033 (which I loved). Raven also makes very solid games so I'll probably like it.

I bought it and finished it. It's like a cross between Bioshock and half Life 2. I really enjoyed it, the story and gameplay was awesome. If you like games like Bioshock, Half Life, Killzone etc it's a must have.
