I just picked this game up today. I usually wait until sports games are going for used prices but I had to buy this one on launch because Alabama is my favorite team and they are finally the #1 team on the game. I debated between the Xbox360 or PS3 version but ultimately went with PS3 because I am more comfortable with the button schemes for football games on Playstation and the online is free. The last edition of NCAA I bought was for the PS2 in 2004. WOW....was I shocked when I put this game in....mainly because of how unbelievably complex, in-depth, and unnecessarily complicated they have become. I kid you not there must be over 100 different combinations of button/analog stick presses on both offense and defense to control the plays pre-snap and post-snap. I mean if I can somehow memorize this gauntlet of knowledge I might can get pretty good...but holy snikes what a learning curve. Anyone else had this type of experience? |

I actually loved NCAA '10 for the PS3. It also helped that I picked it up for thirty from a local hobby store a few weeks after Madden '10 came out. I used it in conjunction with Madden '10 (and I used that to the maximum). NCAA '10 was amazingly in depth. The last one I played was about '06 for the PS2 and before that freaking College Football USA '96 for the Genesis lol back to NCAA '10 (I haven't tried NCAA '11 yet) the recruiting aspect was surprisingly entertaining because it had a little rpg kinda feel. You had to know what the guy you were trying to recruit was interested in (his priorities) and what your school's strong points were as well. So you'd make calls to them and talk up certain aspects, but you don't want to be on the phone too long where they get tired of hearing you talk and lose interest. There is more to it than just calls as well. The playbooks were a lot more varied than Madden 10 as well. Long story short, I wasn't really planning on getting NCAA '11 or Madden '11 off the bat because i am still having fun with the '10 editions, but Sports games are some of the most fun I have ever had, and they are soo much fun with friends too. |

Haven't bought the newest game yet. I am a huge Gator fan, I am a native of Gainesville you see and have worked for UF for the past 9 years. My first job was with the Athletic dept. in their IT division. Huge Tebow fan. So this is a must buy. But yeah the games have been getting really complicated from the ps1 and ps2 days. They tend to experiment with game mechanics before they go into Madden. |
