Does the new 360 ship with a transfer cable for the HDD?

I bought a 512 MB Microsoft memory unit the last time I transfered stuff to a newer XBOX 360 HDD, it doesn't look like the newer model has those ports anymore, or are they hiding on the back somewhere?
You will need to purchase a transfer cable to get all your content, and music/videos onto the new system, it does not ship with the new system. It sells for 20 dollars usually. Not sure about the UK price.

The new slim does not have the memory card ports, only USB ports, you can transfer data to your USB, but only 16GB of info at a time, so if you have a lot of content you will have to keep going back and forth between systems. Which can be a hassle, but I have known people to plug in their old one to one t.v, and the new one to another and just go back and forth for a while. Hey if you wanna save 20 bucks, it takes a bit more time, but if you don't have a lot of content it doesn't take that long.

I guess the transfer cables get a decent price on the 2nd hand market if it's something that is only used once. I'm surprised that there's not a HDD-to-HDD data transfer service offered in shops for a couple of $/£'s.

I just realised how many 360 slim threads there are, is it possible to combine them?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I combined the topics that I thought were the most similar to cut down, I hadn't realized just how many threads there were.

The only reason I would be interested in buying the slim is because of the hard drive, so that I can buy more arcade games, save movies and music onto my hard drive, install numerous games to my hard drive, etc. My gaming TV doesn't support HDMI, so I'm fine with 1080p.

Why not just buy a new hard drive?

it depends on a lot of things. do you have enough money? how much time do you spend on your xbox? but i would say just wait for the next gen.

I don't feel the need to get a slim, there is nothing that it offers that I need.
