Hey guys I had a question for all the tech savy people here. In january i bought a tv (32 inch RCA HD) its nothing special just needed an upgrade from my SD tv....the problem is the sound seems off. voices are very hard to here for some reason, i can turn the volume up to 25 and the sound effects are shaking the house but the voices are very very quiet. I pretty much have to watch movies with subtitles on, same with games. I can adjust the EQ but not really sure what range etc that voices would fall in. any help would be greatly appreciated as its annoying the hell out of me lol

Do you have the exact model number?

Nowadays the equalisors are more 'user-friendly' - have a play around, if all else fails you will be able to Reset to Default.

Failing that, give the manufacturer a buzz.

I had similar issues when setting up my surround sound system. But If the sound is coming directly from the TV you would think that the default would be fine.

I'd imagine that there are a set of defaults like Movie, Music, Voice and so on within the TV options. I'd follow the advice Andsy offered, put on a dvd with a range of sounds so you have something to sample and play about with the EQ.

Yeah it has various different sound settings but none of them really bring out the voices at all. I played Army of Two yesterday and the gun fire etc was shaking the floor yet i didnt hear one bit of dialog in the entire game. I messed with the EQ a little and was able to make the voices a little louder but then it just sounded loud but muffled. Kind of annoying, I know its far from a great TV but i should be able to hear stuff lol

Do have have the same problem when you are watching the TV and DVD's?

Is the problem coming from a source or the TV itself?

What happens when you plug in headphones in to the mini-jack socket on the TV? Does it sound any better? That'll determine whether it's the TV speakers or the setting...

Will try the headphone thing now, but yeah it does it on my ps3, and 360 (both connected with HDMI if that matters) it also does it on cable and i tried with antenna as well and same thing.

I would say so... However, my TV flicks between audio setting if i plug in headphones, but i think that just changes the volume.

Is it possible to take it back to wherever you bought it from? If not you could just pick up either a surround sound system if you have some spare cash or if not some cheapish PC speakers to plug in to the mini-jack socket.

Bediger got a good idea.

I have a 50" TV, built inspeakers are OK, work fine. But I still plugged in a pair of £50 PC speakers, cos they kick the crap outta them.

If in doubt, send it back to manufacturer.

Here in the UK you get a month to send it back to the palce you purchased it, after that it's return to manufacturer.

Google suggests that the tech team for your product are pretty naff, but I'd send it back ASAP, before stuff starts going really wrong, and the warranty expires. Better safe than sorry my man.
