This is not a top favorite soundtracks. This is to list the soundtracks that you think tried something new that not many to no games tried before. There is no specific number, just list the one's you think did something different and cool! No order in mine.

1. Jet Set Radio (Series)- The music in these two games is amazingly memorable and one of my favorites. There are lots of different styles and they all fit the games' style perfectly. Absolutely epic.

2. PaRappa the Rapper (Series)- I like these games better than the Guitar Heroes and Rock Bands of today. Why? Its original and fun. The music is catchy, fun, and the style is very different every stage.

3. Crash Twinsanity- I love the music in the three original Crash's, but the last good Crash game did it right. Using the group "Spiralmouth" to do COMPLETE human sound songs, and it's amazing. Definately one of the game's highlights and makes the game even funnier. Totally fits the game's style.

4. Super Mario Galaxy (1 and 2)- Orchistrated music isn't new in games, but in a platformer? Wow!

Those are some. I'll post more if I think of any good ones.

Now it's your guys' turn! :)

Jet Set Radio has awesome fucking music. Fits great for a Hip Hop fan such as myself.

I wanna say Secret of Mana & Shadow of the Colossus, just because they're two of my favorites. :)

Definitely Secret of Mana (which, by the way, is going to be ported to the iOS app store!) Also Chrono Cross, FFVI, Earthbound, and Super Mario RPG.

All great choices, Dizzy. Remember the Gigyas battle "music" in Earthbound? Probably one of the best boss battles in video game history, and without a doubt the most disturbing moment I've ever had with, and probably will have, with a video game. I was so emotionally drained by the end of it. Man.

Classic. Honestly, the writing, production values, and design choices in that game still hold up remarkably well today- better than most SNES titles. Now pleeeasssee port the Mother compilation to the NDS and release it in NA!

I love that Pa Rappa the Rapper got some love, but what about Gitaroo Man.

Man, that game was so much fun. I remember I couldn't beat one song near the end of the game and had to stop. Then, a year later, I tried it again and totally rocked the game. Pretty exciting times, haha.

I love most of the songs in the game. This one is one of my favorites:

Gitaroo Man - Born to be Bone

I think the very first Ratchet and Clank game had a really nice midi-esque soundtrack, I really enjoyed it.

Yes I do. A few of them no, but still a rather nice choice in Sound tracks.
Shenmue sound tracks brought music from another country/part of the world into the game. Giving the player the feeling of the culture. Has been done before. However Shenmue's sound track really captured many people.

Shadow of the colossus. Nah. I love the sound track though.

Doom games. The originals had Midi Rock songs in them. Nothing beat smashing through levels with some nice rock music. While the PS1 port used Ambient music, to give a player a nice feeling of being alone.

Wind waker. All the music fit really nice. You had nice peaceful music when needed, and dramatic when called for. Innovative? No... Good? Yes.

Metroid Prime 2's sound track gave the very feeling of you exploring a world not your own. The feeling of being lost, and the environments you come across. Very good sound track. Just like other Metroid games.

Chrono Trigger. Nice music for an RPG. Who can't say they didn't like the music from this game. Especially the track from 12000 BC. Corridors of time. Set the very environment of a neutopia setting.

Demon's souls. The game which is mainly silent from music. Music cranks in when at a boss of the stage. Giving the game a very epic feeling. And once successful you feel very good about yourself. With out the music. I think the feeling would be a bit less.

This is how I feel about them being innovative. Whether they are or not. I feel that they are.

I'd say...
The World Ends With You...
has a pretty inovative soundtrack. Fast, pumping J-pop with english lyrics isn't huge on the DS as well as handheld games in general and also for US games as well.
