Will a PS3 hard drive work on a laptop?

As long as they are compatible (same type), would a PS3 hard drive work in a laptop? I understand that they do need to be reformatted, but I wasn't sure if it was something you could just swap out if you had a bad hard drive :/ I appreciate any help :)

I don't see why it wouldn't since the PS3 can be upgraded using standard Laptop HDD drives.

I'm thinking the same as well but I've read up about some compatibility issues. I don't know enough to really say one way or the other on my own :/

You may need to remove a cradle from the each of the 2.5" HDD's, and swap them over as part of the move, but it should be absolutely fine. A format may be required as well.

The only compatibility issues I've heard, is some of the larger capacity HDD's going INTO the PS3. I see no reason why a PS3 HDD would have an issue with any (decent) laptop whatsoever.
