No CFW Stuff; Is there anything I can do on my PSP that would give me emulators, homebrews, or anything free etc.?

Level 7 Posts: 1,338 Group: Members Member #604 Joined: Apr 18, 2009	You could either find someone who already has custom firmware to softmod a battery and put some files on a memory stick which will install it for you, or you could order a premade pandora battery off of some site along with a magic memory stick. Here's a guide: http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-software-guides/45253-how-install-psp-custom-firmware.html There are some problems with some motherboards, and I believe all 3000 model systems. Installing cfw on these could cause major problems.

Level 9 Posts: 2,243 Group: Members Member #1,460 Joined: Dec 21, 2009	You'll need custom firmware to get anything free on the PSP. I've heard that all PSP 1000s are hackable. I've also heard that some 2000s are hackable, depending on motherboard type and 3000s aren't generally hackable. If you can get the stuff and have the proper model PSP, it generally takes a few minutes and it's ready to go. Worst case scenario, find a craigslist ad for $10-20.

Level 7 Posts: 1,338 Group: Members Member #604 Joined: Apr 18, 2009	It doesn't matter what firmware you have as long as you use a pandora battery and a magic memory stick. Those tools will allow you to install any firmware, including custom firmware.
