My college classes started up recently and they blow. I sit there for once a week and listen to 3 old men talk about fitness. It wouldn't be that bad if it was interesting, but they are from 10-4 and the 1st classes into the Sports & Fitness program at my college. Please share your stories on how your glad to be back or think it sucks :)

I graduated high school in 1998, but I remember the feeling of starting a new year of school. It was a split between the anticipation of "this will be the year I do well" and "oh crap, my vacation is over". The good feeling of meeting your new classmates and settling back into the old routine last for a few days, then you spend the rest of the year looking forward to June. I don't miss those days, let me tell you.

While I was in college I didn't have any big feelings of going back to class, good or bad. I enjoyed almost all my classes (I picked ones I liked) and had some great professors (again, picked mainly ones I liked). In high school I hated that the vacation was over, but just looked forward to seeings friends I didn't normally see, seeing teachers I had the year before, and just the fun times that occurred almost every day either at lunch, gym, or elsewhere.

I always did well in school so I only had the feeling of my vacation is over :/ I think my vacation is over permanently though. I just found out that I have to do:

240 hours of volunteer work for one class
480 hours of volunteer work for another class

Like holy crap, 720 hours isn't exactly a joke. I'm fairly certain I only get 6 months to do each class so roughly 14 hours a week but working full time 60 hours a week really doesn't allow me that kind of luxury to volunteer. If the advisors won't work with me on it then I'll have the drop the program and sign up for a business degree (my 2nd choice). There's just no way I can do that much in a short time period.

I go back in a week from today. I'll be a junior in high school and I really do not want to go back. It's not so much that I don't like school, but I don't like the people. Most of the kids at my school are assholes. Hopefully the classes I picked this year are good and have good people in them because I don't think many idiots would take the same classes.

I still cannot wait to go to college.

School started on the 26th for me, which was last Thursday.
This year was the start of my Freshman Year of Highschool, and I'm a little mixed. I'm enjoying the freedoms of it, but it's also more demanding and you're held at a higher standard. It's been challenging getting back into the swing of things, and the hallways and such prove to be pretty confusing, but I think I'll be comfortable with it sometime soon.

I've been in school since the 19th and I don't like it at all the classes are boring and the assignments have no points to them and the only part I like is the girls. :P

Give it time, school is only as fun and interesting as you make it. Sometimes you get lucky and have good classmates and teachers, sometimes you don't and have to find your own reasons for enjoying it.

LMAO school has no point eh? How are you going to pay your bills, manage your money or even get a good job without a lack of education?

Maybe they'll teach you to spell like you're actually a human who knows his language.

I salute your optimism. It doesn't seem like it now, but your schooling is giving you a valueable foundation in math, writing and other skills that will serve you well in high school and beyond. Yes, it's boring and yes, it seems pointless at the time, but it's all for the greater good. We're moving into a knowledge economy and your prospects will be very dim without a good education.

You're only 13 now, but you'll see how your outlook changes in a year when you start high school. It gets better as you go.

So you are saying that I can't spell? Mostly because I said like two words as O? instead of Oh??????? Im sorry but is that what you wanted to hear?

All he suggested was an improvement on your grammar and spelling, no need to freak out. :P
