Ds Games!

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/31/999-set-to-ensnare-north-america-this-november/

This is the first I'm hearing of this game, but I enjoy the graphic novel and point and click type games on the ds, as well as puzzle games. This appears to be a combination of these types of games, so I'm looking forward to it.
Anyone else going to give this a try, or know anything about it?

An English trailer for anyone that's interested. Not as in depth as the Japanese one, but I can understand the writing.

I Like Games.

I like quirky games like this, I hope it turns out well...adventure/point and click style games are really hit or miss it seems for the DS.

Yes, games like hotel dusk on the one hand turn out fantastic, while games like Again turn out very lack luster. I hope this game meets somewhere at least in the middle of those two. I'm glad to see a couple of people interested in this, I thought I was the only person that liked these types of games.

Which part are you having trouble with? I just went to it again now and for some stupid reason the bottom half is taking up a ton of the screen now, to the point where you can't see the whole ds. Is this the problem your talking about?

No mine loads fine, I just have to scroll down a bit to see the whole DS. I'm havinvg trouble in the game, finding out the codes to open the cases and it just gives you shapes and numbers.

It's on my "possible" list right now. It's still kind of expensive.

Same with me, I try to get all my ds games for 20 dollars or under, and rarely buy one when it's new. This looks like the type that will get a price drop within its first couple of months in retail stores.

To me it looks like one of those games that's going to drop to $27 or so after a month or two, and then immediately disappear.

Has anyone here gotten a chance to play the game? It's utterly fantastic. When I was playing I couldn't put the game down. The localization is great and the story ends up being very clever and really messes with your head. The true ending is absolutely one of the best game endings ever in my opinion. It's really emotionally satisfying. I also love how the replayability of the game twists into the story itself. You'll know what I mean if you've played the game enough to get the true ending.

I'm glad to keep hearing such praise for this game, as I love playing anything unique on the ds, and point and click/mystery/puzzle types are my favorite. I will be picking this one up soon, I'm just waiting to get it used or a price drop/sale.

Since I got the 3DS on launch, I've bought a few games for the DS that I've wanted to play or that caught my attention when I didn't own a DS anymore. I haven't bought a single 3DS game because I've been addicted to Dragon Quest IX and Monster Tale... I haven't beaten either of them and I just picked this game up yesterday and it is AMAZING. The sound for this game is fantastic, I love the music and sound effects for the doors and everything. Makes the game really intense. The story is interesting, I haven't beat it yet but from what I've played, it is a great game and can't wait to see how my playthrough turns out.

That's the first ending I got too, and it's the only one I can remember cutting out at what seemed like a weird time.

Well actually, I just got the Axe ending too and that cut out worse than the Coffin ending lol. I really didn't see that coming. And every time I get to an ending I always have these questions like...
Spoiler: click to toggle
lol and it's making me mad 'cause I can't sleep for a few hours 'cause I keep thinking about what happened.

Actually I got the "Safe Ending" not the "Coffin Ending" I thought it was the Coffin ending because of what happened in the room with Snake and June. Guess I'ma have to replay and go for the Coffin Ending/True Ending. :)

I got the True Ending last night. And wow, the plot twisted a lot.

I actually picked this up not too long ago on sale for $20 I think. I only played the begining part, just to get a feel for it, and I enjoyed it. Not sure when I'm going to get back to it though.
