There are rumours and i've read a few things but i'm really not sure. I don't think they are but I the same time I have a feeling they are or should because Microsofts competitors have handhelds, like Sony and Nintendo and other companies. I think if they did make a portable Xbox to get into the handheld gaming market it'd be really good but I think there would be lots of problems and flaws with it.

To be honest, I can't see it happening too soon. Not to say they don't have the money or capability to create a great handheld, but I just don't think it would be the right move at this point in time. With the PS3 finally emerging as a powerful contendor, Microsoft will be wanting to put all its resources into its 360 console. In addition, with the release of Kinect, it's got an entirely new medium to play around with. Essentially, Microsoft has found its current niche as a home-entertainment console, and so long as they continue to pump all their money and resources into it - it will continue to be successful. With the Nintendo DS currently dominating the handheld marketplace, and the 3DS gaining legions of followers, it's best if they just sit back and watch how everything plays out. Good question though! |

They could. They have the resources. Not sure what would stop them other than them being afraid Nintendo would beat'em without effort. If they do, I hope they bring something unique and not just another powerful battery-draining handheld. |

This business is all about money to corporations like Microsoft and Sony. Microsoft makes enough from the 360 and such and their'd be no point in designing a new portable. |

Not sure. 3DS and PSP2 will be hard to contend with. Not to mention there is going to be a lot of Tegra 2 based devices out by a number of manufacturers. And they'll almost all run a mobile version of Windows 7. So technically... Microsoft doesn't need to 'enter' the market as others are creating markets around them. |
