Is anyone else here a fan of Big Brother (the US version)? I'm not a big reality TV fan, but I am addicted to this show for some reason. Is anyone else following the current season?

You may be suprised to hear this, but I am for sure! I follow every season of Big Brother and it is one of my favorite shows on the air, and one of the few shows I still watch actively! Glad to hear there's another fan of it on the forum.

Haha, I wanted Brendon to win because he fought so hard. Now I want Lane and Brittney to be in the final two, not sure which one I want to win yet.

When I was younger I used to casually watch it with my family, but we all quit at like season... 7? 8? 9? One of those probably, lol, it was at least like 3-5 years ago we stopped. I believe it was the season after the one where they brought back past players (which was really enjoyable).

I remember we watched the first episode of... whatever season and thought that it got incredibly annoying and turned into an MTV-quality show. It turned more into all of the guys on the show being more like, "Dude, the chicks are hot!", and the girls being like, "The guys are so into us" rather than the usual mind-tricks, deceipt, and stategery. To be fair I watched only the first episode of that season and never went back, so I don't know, it could be absolute gold right now, or that season could've picked up.

Since I haven't really dabbled into reality TV. I'll have a good laugh at your standard so-bad-it's-good shows like Jersey Shore and Keeping up with the Kardashians, shows are so bad they seem like they're self-aware. It's like they know people watch them only for laughs and eye-candy.

Again, to be fair, outside of the extremely casual viewing of Survivor (which seems to still be good), I'm not really looking for any good reality shows. The fact that I KNOW that they can't be truly reality, that some of it has to be fake... bothers me.

Can anyone connect with me? No? Maybe?

What's the show about?
They basically throw a bunch of people into the Big Brother house, where they will be secluded from all of the things going in the outside world and don't really have any electronics at all. Each week, there is an HOH competition which could be anything from a trivia or a physical endurance competition. The winner of the HOH each week has to nominate two people for eviction (from the game). The HOH also gets the most luxurious of all of the rooms, as well. This causes alliances to form, deals to made, etc.

Then, at another point of that week they hold a POV (power of veto) competition. The winner of that will be able to keep the nominations the same for that week, or take someone off of the block. Then, the HOH will have to name a replacement nominee (if someone was vetoed).

Towards the end of the week, everyone (excluding the HOH) will vote privately on who they want to evict out of the two people that are nominated at that time.

So throughout all of these competitions, shomances, drama, back-stabs, deals, and alliances form which are what truly make the show enjoyable.

That is the basic run-down of each week. Also, the last batch of people who are evicted (I forget the specific amount) will form the jury and go to the jury house. That means that this group of people will have to sit down, discuss, argue, and place their votes on who they think should win the finale (when it comes around) out of the final two.

I hope I was able to describe most of what happens on each week of the show. xD

I'm enjoying the current season and I have to say that I hope Enzo wins. He's a total meathead, but he's also likable and he seems to be one of the most down to earth people on the show. Why he gave himself the nickname "meow meow", I do not get.

The Meow Meow! :D

His one problem is that he sucks at competitions. But, if he makes it to the end he has a good amount of votes and a good chance to win.

He does suck at competitions, but he has also not made as many enemies in the game and that is why he is still in it. I'm just glad Rachel and Matt were evicted - I can't stand those two knobheads!

Another thing I always like when it happens in Big Brother is when things don't go as people think. I mean, sometimes even if I like that person, I find it hilarious when they think they're perfectly safe and end up going home out of no where. Take when Rachel was evicted for instance. They both expected Brendon to go because he intentionally made a bunch of enemies in the house, but that did the exact opposite and both of them were shocked. I guess it's my guilty pleasure to see people's reactions when this happens. xP Even more so, I thought it would have been funny if they evicted Hayden last week rather than Ragan, because it would be so unexpected. :D

Big Brother is the one reality show I watch, and although I haven't followed this season as closely as I have in years passed, I too love Enzo. Awesome dude.

This season has been pretty predictable in terms of who is evicted and when. For example, Brendan was intentionally making enemies, but this was also obvious and he was deemed the weaker player. Knocking Rachel out was the goal of the brigade and I think it was the right move. Break up the show-mance and send them both packing in succession. Matt and Ragan being evicted was a surprise to nobody, and Kathy was the only logical replacement when Matt whipped out the Diamond Power of Vito.

I agree with you, and I also think that Kathy was one of the most boring and dull characters on the show, though I did kind of feel bad for her when she was evicted with no chance to save herself.

I've always preferred Little Brother.

Really though, I watched one season. Just for kicks. Haha

My late great grandmother used to watch it though. This little 80 something year old watching a bunch of twenty something act like idiots. And she loved it. O.o

I watched the first season when it was all hyped up and new.
After that, nobody was watching

I think it got axed here in Australia around 2007 by our old Prime Minister..

John Howard.. Lol.

I watched it a lot, sadly. No idea why, but I would definitely do it again if it was on.

Australian's are so stupid, that's why I like watching them drunk on the up late episodes. (:
