Long story short, I have a package that weighs no more than a pound, and it needs to go from The East Coast of the US to Canada. UPS says that costs upwards of 80 bucks, but I KNOW there must be some cheaper way. Any ideas?

Well I would suggest this, but I'm not sure if they also ship to Canada...

If your shipping internationally (even Canada), your best bet is to ship it through USPS. Any other service will charge a fortune. If it's light or small enough, you can ship it through USPS first class international for pretty cheap. If it's heavier than that I would use USPS Priority International, which should run you no more than $25ish max.

I Like Games.

In my experience shipping items to canada that weight under a pount, it is typically the same as shipping within the US if not even cheaper sometimes. The one you gotta look out for is hwen you ship to the UK and Australia, THOSE are killers.

Yeah, a USPS flat rate box looks like it'd be the cheapest option here. The items I'm sending aren't heavy at all. Just a little package for RobMan. I think I actually may be able to get it to him now. I just have to make the time to get a flat rate box and mail it off.

You should send it ground mail if you have the option and have no need to get the package delivered in a quick fashion. I don't know exactly what it would cost in North America to do so, but sending things by surface mail is usually significantly cheaper, with a longer time frame. Thinking about it though, something that is less then half a kilo shouldn't be too much even by airmail standards through the regular USPS

Shipping to Van hey? I'm not totally sure but I think he lives in the Suburbs some place since Gamedeals was up in Burnaby.

I am in Canada and I buy stuff from the US all the time, and the most of the sellers ship USPS because the rates are comparable to shipping locally. For example, a game will usually cost $3.50 to ship to my address from the US, but this is assuming that you are not insuring the package. Insurance, expedited shipping and tracking all come at a premium.

In terms of shipping time, I get most stuff delivered by ground mail and it usually takes about a week, which is reasonable, so you probably don't need to pay extra for UPS since they will only get it there marginally faster while charging 10 times more.
