Really what the hell I mean first you make it exclusive to the wii then make it available for ps3 and 360 owners but for those two consoles you have to buy a whole different game. And now no online for the Wii version. This really ticks me off.

Happens.
but come on it is the year 2010 they should have multiplayer in every version that is released

Some Big EA Guy: "Oh have you guys finished the wii version for nba jam?"

some indvidual: " Not yet we still need to put in the multiplayer"

Some Big EA Guy: " OH don't worry people don't want multiplayer in a sports game!"

That's very unfortunate. Are you still going to get it? Back in the good old NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1 days, we didn't have online and people still enjoyed these games without it. I'm sure you can overlook multiplayer just this once.

well yeah but the thing is most of my friends that played this with me live in a different town now and I would need online to play with them. but I probably will buy the game eventually I might even buy NBA Elite if I am really desperate

Wii owners often get the short end of the stick when it comes to cross-platform games, be it gameplay elements that are omitted or multiplayer support. It sucks, but sadly there isn't much that can be done.

This would normally be the case if the game was designed for the PS3 or 360 and then ported to the Wii with cuts so the system could handle it, but NBA Jam was supposed to be a Wii exclusive so there is no excuse for the game to not have online play. (other than to boost sales of NBA Elite 11)

EA has ruled the football video game scene since it got exclusive rights to the NFL and now they are crapping on the Wii version of NBA Jam for the sole purpose of boosting sales of there NBA Elite 11 game. I mean they can add multiplayer to a free pack in game but cant take the time to add it to the Wii, the console they claimed it was being developed for to begin with.

What it boils down to is if the Wii version of NBA Jam had online play then people would buy that version and then the hardcore sports fans would probably get NBA 2K 11 on PS3 or 360.

What people can do is stop buying EA games where its obvious they are gouging for money. Don't buy used EA sports games so they don't make $10.00 more for games they have already got there profit for.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Nintendo also omit online multiplayer for New Super Mario Bros Wii? I wonder why Nintendo does this.

Yes, they did. Nintendo said they didn't do it because the Wii couldn't handle it.
They also didn't have Peach as a playable character because they didn't want to design her skirt, so make of that what you will.

In terms of this, I don't think it's a huge deal. I mean yeah, the Wii's missing out on a full exclusive, but so are the PS3 and 360. The Wii gets more offline options, and the 360/PS3 get stripped down features but HD online play.

The way I look at it, more people get to play the game. They SHOULD have online in the Wii version, but honestly Nintendo doesn't make it easy for developers to make and benefit from online features on their systems.
