I was wondering how many people have had the chance to play Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3 (SD 2 = Secret of Mana for the SNES). Of those people who have played them, which one did you like better? I personally enjoyed 3 more, but I find it interesting that so many people loved 2, but Squaresoft didn't try to bring 3 out in the US. (Probably due to the release of PS1 and N64 on the horizon). Some reasons why I liked 3 more: - I liked the music even more than 2's. 2 had some wonderful tunes too. - I liked the variety it offered. I may not have played through all of the different branches (you could pick 3 characters out of 6), but if I ever want to play through it again and have a different challenge; the option is still available to me. - Different final bosses depending on the characters you chose. - The final boss of 2 was very annoying I thought:( - No one had to be stuck with a super crappy character on multiplayer, because you could choose the character you wanted. If you played with 2 other people in 2, someone was stuck being that annoying little fairy thing, can't remember its name@_@ - The characters had branches when they leveled up to become different classes. This adds even more replay ability to the game. I guess the point I am trying to make is is that this game can be played over and over again, but still feel different, which gives it a huge advantage over Seiken Densetsu 2. So, please let me know your opinions. Oh, and if you haven't played either one, I suggest them both. They're both very fun games:D Thanks! |

I play both game and I still like Secret of Mana (SD2) more. I get more pleasure using magic spam. Also weapon swapping between character gives a different strategy to play. SD3 is great, but I feel the character is preset with their own unique weapon & spell. You can still choose different class, but I rather have character chose their own spell & class. One great thing SD3 did was eliminate the charge up weapon. It was a chore to charge weapon in SD2. |
