just wondering if anyone can give me advice on what games to look for????

The first thing you should try and do is track down the Japanese style American release controllers. Or just the Saturn controller 2 as it's much more comfortable to use and the shoulder buttons don't feel like they will fall off.

You also should invest in a new battery for the system right away because you don't know how old the one in the system is. I can't remember the exact number but its something like the S3223 or something like that?

Get an action reply cart that is either a 4 in 1 or preferably a 5 in 1. They give you a place to save games, since the Saturn has a very small hard drive on it, play Japanese games and such. If you have a 5 in 1 it will give you the 4 MB expansion which will allow you to play Japanese import fighting games like Marvel Vs. Street Fighter, Street Fighter Zero 3 and some others.

Finally there are a number of American releases and Japanese releases worth checking out. What kind of games do you like? Perhaps suggestions from everyone can come out when you give a description of the genres you like. :)

These "closer look" threads are the first place to look when you want to learn about a system or even get some game suggestions. ;)

Haha Thanks!

Just as an update to the Cart, you can get one for a reasonable price from Playasia as of right now of 25 bucks US. That's actually pretty good considering that they used to go for much more in the past. If you are seriously considering being a Saturn owner, it's a must have.

The panzer dragoon series and nights are probably some of the most important games in any Saturn collection!

After collecting PC Engine games, Saturn game collecting seems like a trip to the dollar store.
