All this talk about scores and Sonic Adventure, and i just watched an awesome review of Sonic Adventure that came out today. This is how all reviews should be done, no score, just someone's opinion and recommendation. Mark has changed the way i look at game reviews, i've never heard HappyConsoleGamer or Pete talk about him, if u guys haven't heard of CGR check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3LzS2WjK5s
Yea Mark from CGR is without a doubt my favorite game reviewer on youtube. He used to have a sidekick when they first started recording reviews 10 years ago who was pretty funny aswell. I would definitely be surprised if the AGG guys could get him as a guest on a show.

Not sure if someone said this yet, but they have had Soul Calubur on XBLA for a while now.

Im still going to get Sonic Adventure, because it still is a great game. DC had such an amazing launch. My copy on the DC is pretty scratched (bad ebay seller FTL).

Great episode, loved the "uncut" feel it had this time round.

I've been curious about how Front Mission Evolved pans out by how Johnny has been describing it, I hope there's a demo because surprisingly it's being released on PC also (which happens to be my main platform).
Im pretty sure Square-Enix's interest in the PC rose when they acquired Eidos.

And the sad part is that a huge majority of gamers go by review scores rather than opinions. I stopped giving scores to games when people were commenting more about the score I gave it rather than the review itself.

I really enjoyed this episode because of it's unedited feel and also the Duke quotes were a nice touch. I would like to thank you guys for an epic podcast that made me learn what "podcast" meant. The games I am awaiting are as follows.

FIFA 11.
Cod:Black Ops
DeadRising 2
Halo:Reach

I know the majority of them are out but I can't afford them atm. Has anyone play DeadRising? I want an impression if you would be as kind. /Throws courtesy out the window.

Loving the podcast, this was probably my favorite so far since everyone could talk about it and the audio quality was great. It's unfortunate that you guys have to use Skype but you cope with it very well.

And I'm pretty sure I'm the person who sent in the question that you didn't recall their name. It was a pretty general question so perhaps it was somebody else, but I at least asked about the same thing so I got the answers I wanted, lol.

P.S. So is Jason a permenant host now? He was never called a guest so I can only assume he's permenant?

I think the Podcast was awesome. I listened to it while working on a project at 1am in the morning. I don't care about the brainfarts. I knew they were incorrect because those are the games I follow in my Game Informer sub I got with Street Fighter 4 Special Ed. when it first came out.

People need to let up on you guys, jeez.

Also, I think INECompany did a swell review of Sonic Adv. on the 360. And it looked really good and quite fast so I am not sure if I can subject myself to metacritic/ign and the canned assholes who pay their mortgages off their op ed pieces.

I never go by reviews anymore, I just watch them for game play footage and so forth. I'm a huge Dynasty Warriors fan and Koei fan in general and they usually always give those games bad reviews for the most part. It seems most websites only give, "mainstream" games a good score.

Funny you mention Dynasty Warriors. I am actually trying to collect all of those and the Armored Core games soon as I move to Alabama. I always passed up DW because of game mag coverage when during their US landings were never that impressive.

However, after watching YT gameplays they are right up my alley!

Not necessarily sad, I could quiz you on general political science or maintenance, would you consider yourself 'sad' on that particular subject? I relate to scores and genres myself, because it's an indication for me to distinguish between the average, decent, and lackluster. Especially on aggregate pages such as gamerankings, it's been much help.

The fact is, Sonic Adventure didn't age well, and in my opinion the game wasn't that particularly great to begin with. Did I enjoy the game? Of course, but there were many platformers I enjoyed. If not more? *shrugs*

Oh yea, they are so much fun to me. I loved beat'em ups like Streets of Rage, Double Dragon, Final Fight growing up and they remind me of them just in 3D. DW Gundam, Samurai Warriors, Warriors Orochi are all amazing in my eye. Needless to say I will be picking up Fist of the Northstar as well.

I enjoyed the podcast and liked how raw it was. At first i thought that it was forgotten to be edited than i realized that these moments were left in cause they were funny. As for Sonic Adventure, I just picked this game up and have never played it so I will not be biased or be able to judge it on past experience. Also I dont really pay attention to scores anymore at all. A lot of games that are given lower scores i find really good fun games. Also there are some games that have gotten so mixed scores that you just have to play and judge for yourselves like God Hand.

Good episode guys looking forward to the next guest.

Haha nice one Pete, I was one of those three people in the audience waiting foryou to mention the new Naruto game! That was funny, and it looks like a really cool game and I hope you do a review on it and try it out. Also, the podcast is still awesome, and the new dream Oblivian you were talking about sounds awesome. Also, has anybody else been dying for the U.S release of Ys vs The Legend of Heroes(Ys vs Sora No Kiseki in Japan).

Hey guys! Just listened to the podcast over the period of a week, and this one was by far the funniest one. Had me laughing quite a bit all throughout, especially the part when gamester had to start over 3 times to talk about GT5 and then finally said "I'm looking forward to GT5. What do you guys think." Also, thanks for answering my question! Life has a lot of distractions, and that has kept me from finishing a lot of games lately. I started shenmue and was on the last disc, and yet 1 month later I still haven't beaten it! School and music are keeping me too busy right now. Great work on the podcast this week, and the quality was great! Lot's of content and many laughs! :)

Just my opinion, but I think people really should at least attempt to read and see WHY games got a 6 or 7, maybe the reasons for the mediocre scores were because of silly reasons that do not bother you (such as short campaign, no online mode, bad graphics, etc).

What irks me the most is when people refuse to buy games that receive a score lower than a 9 or something, they are missing out on some great games for sure.

Also, speaking of Dynasty Warriors, I checked out some video of that Basura game or whatever it is called coming out soon, it looks like Dynasty Warriors but only crazier, looks fun! Also Samurai Warriors 3 on Wii, wonder how that will be?

Samurai Warriors 1 and 2 on the PS2 are great! I love them, but I'm also a HUGE beat'em up fan and I like Japan History as well so Samurai Warriors is all that rolled in one. I really want to get my hands on the wii version but atm I don't have a wii since my ex took it.... :( BUT, I will be getting Sengoku Basara for sure.
Also you should try out Orochi Z for the PS3, its japan import remake of Orochi 1 and 2 which was on the ps2/360 but its has been revamped with better graphics and extra modes, etc. Great game.

And to clear one last thing up about us getting information wrong about game titles, we do not plan this out like "Oh look a new Dead Space game, let me look up all the info and stuff prior to the show so that I know my shit", while this may seem ideal and such, we have only a certain amount of time to record the show, which we would actually rather use to well...record. This also keeps the show pure in a way that our opinions are all split second stuff and not planned or thought out prior to the show.
I hope I didn't come off as too much of a dick... sorry if I sounded like a whiny kid when I pointed out the mistakes. I guess I was in a nit-picky mood when I listened to the podcast. I'm seriously a huge fan of All Gen Gamers, and the wait for each new episode every week nearly kills me!

Also, thanks for answering my question! It made my day.

That's true, but usually those people cannot be helped or are limited to a tight budget. If, for instance, Tales of.. gets a 7.0, do you think the game deserved the score when the niche crowd praises the game? For this instance, I do think the critics will have a concrete assertion to why the game isn't a 9.0 worthy game, despite the communal praise. The game has bugs, lengthy cliche anime-inspired dialogue, there might be lag, isn't particular innovative in presentation or structure, or whatever else might detract from the game's overall appeal. This might not be my personal opinion against the game, but I might also be discriminating against the game's 'faults', or that the faults aren't glaring enough for me to pick and chew. Personally, I admire the criticism, but the industry can also sell out to corporate checks or bias. Which I think is what is truly sad. :/

I hate to bitch at you guys, but no need to hate on the proffesional video game industry. Some of them were around in the Dreamcast days, and some are even Sonic fans. Like that 1Up review, reading it, a lot of the problems were also with the quality of the port and how it doesn't control as well as one took for granted at the time. That being said, I do really enjoy the game, and I only picked it up a few years ago.

Also, concerning Lords Of Shadow, you guys seemed to want a 3D SotN. Looking at the PS2 Castlevania games, that is exactly what they were trying to be; a 3D SotN. But the new Castlevania game is supposedly more inspired by the old classics like Super Castlevania IV, and is supposed to be like those games in 3D.

Games I'm looking forward too- Final Fantasy The Four Heroes Of Light looks great, and seems to be the FF version of DQIX. YES, it does have multiplayer, and it is very analogous to DQIX. Lufia 2 remake is also another one I'm excited for, as I love action RPGs and I'm really happy Square is giving its old franchises another chance. Speaking of action RPGs, Oath In Felghana looks fantastic. I'm a gonna pick up the special edition. :) I'm interested in Kirby's Epic Yarn, but I'm not sure I'll be able to afford it; maybe a Christmas purchase? It has more zippers than a Tetsuya Nomura game. :) To be honest, I was ambivalent about Vanquish at first, but I think I should give it another chance.

BTW, WATCH THIS!

http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/29448

It is a quite interesting perspective of reviewing games...from the professional side.

Great show guys, and if i may I would like to just add that I think the crits should all be in a new thread. Lot of people complaining and it really takes away from talking about the actual content in the shows. Also people, try and relax on your "opinions". They are just starting out and while of course its great to get feedback, what I am hearing is a bit too harsh to be considered constructive. One of the last things any new show needs is the wind taken out of its sails by people bitching about every single aspect of show.

I mean I know like most forums everyone likes to think they are an expert about everything, but basically what I am trying to say is there is a tactful way to crit something and sadly, a lot of people here seem to lack that skill set.

As for number rating systems, for me, if most major review sources rate a game highly, chances are I will like it. The inverse, however, is not true. I'm sure there are plenty of games I love that got crap reviews. Essentially, keep an eye out for the high scoring games, but do your own exploring of everything else.

As far as new games coming out, I am quite ready for Vanquish. A local Gamestop was throwing away a bunch of promo material and I got a free Vanquish poster thingy (it's actually a 30" x 30" cardboard thing, so it's not really a poster)! Dopeness!
