So whilst the gaming industry as a whole suffered a blow recently with sales down, the 360 seems to do the oppsite.

Is Kinect buliding up momentum

I think it's a combination of factors, including the revamped console, the blockbuster release of "Halo: Reach" and the upcoming Kinect, that have helped Microsoft weather the storm in September. The "360 slim" was an excellent and well-timed move from Microsoft and it addresses some of the most common issues, such as the console overheating and having to buy the wireless adapted separately. It also seems that the dreaded RROD problem is less prevalent than it was in previous models, so buyer trepidation seems to have waned. To what extent the upcoming release of the Kinect has to do with this, I don't know, but it doesn't surprise me because the technology is interesting and sales will spike due to "first wave" purchasers.

True on the blockbuster titles microsoft will hope Fable 3 can keep the momentum flowing till the release of kinect which even with its haters looks like its going to sell a bucket load.

The 360 slim has been almost flawless with me and i only know one friend who had to take his back due to it freezing but his replacement is running fine and dandy
