Ok I have been delaying buying a headset for a while, on my 360 I have the stock 360 headset that comes with the system and on PS3 I have (not joking) my headset from SOCOM (not socom confrontation, socom 1 on the ps2 lol) I thought about buying a blue tooth for ps3 but everytime i hear them in games they sound horrible. I have decided to go a little pricier (not much) these are the 2 I am debating on Turtle Beach PX 21 (It says for PS3 but I have heard you can use it on 360) Tritton AX180 (good for both consoles) anyone have any thoughts on which is better sound quality, durability etc....they are about the same price (I think the turtle beach is $10 more) |

Well if you're going for one of those I would just say upgrade to the Tritton AX720 Headset because it is overall a little better than the one you've listed. It's about $130 if I can remember. But it has better quality and works for the PS3, 360 and PC. It also makes the sound from gunfire or music or anything else go into it not just the chatting. So there's my 2 cents. |

I have a Turtle beach XI headset for the 360, and if the other models are similar it should be very durable, and comfortable. |

I have the turtle beach PX21's and I have to say they are amazing, but remember with any of these setups you have a bunch of cables to run. The PX21's have great sound, a chat boost function, a really good mic, and work with the PC, PS3, and 360. There is a little cable that you have to plug into the 360 controller for chatting(any setup will have to have this to work for the 360). The price is very reasonable i think for what you get. I haven't tried the other ones you mentioned, but I highly recommend the PX21's. I've only had one issue - occasionally your chat function will drop out of if you unplug the headset from the cable but not the 360 controller your chat functions will stop. If this happens you just unplug it from the controller and plug it back in to get it working again. I've put hours and hours of use on mine, and only had this happen like 3 times, so it's rare. one last thing. The game sound won't work with any of these headsets (maybe with the super expensive ones) with just an HDMI cable on the 360. You have to run composite, component, or have the HDMI adapter with the audio split off to rca connectors. PS3 you can send audio over your separate composite cable, and PC over USB. thanks man, i ended up buying the PX21's and the difference was amazing, hearing sounds in games i never knew existed lol works great on both my ps3 and 360 (luckily my 360 came with that audio adapter which made hooking it up really easy!) so far i highly reccomend them! |
