Christmas is speeding up. And for christmas I want to get an 250 gb kinect bundle for 400 dollars. And my parents said I have to pay half of the money. So I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on how to make some quick money in a two month time period. I am 14 so I dont know if I am eligible to get a real job. Also this can be for other reasons if people need to gain a little extra money. So please lists some tips. |

You have to pay for your own Christmas gift? Don't get your parents anything too pricey then! You could get yourself a paper round or offer to do small jobs for relatives or people in your neighbourhood. |

With winter coming, depending on where you live I guess, shoveling snow for a weekend or so can pay off a ton. |

Ask any other relatives and friends to just give you money for Christmas, and ask if you could get it early so you can pay your parents, or offer to pay them after Christmas with all the other Christmas money you get. |

Mow lawns, do chores around the house, or wash cars. I used to make about $150 a week doing odd jobs for the neighborhood. I believe one day I got paid $100 for clearing out acres of dead tree limbs & brush from this one old lady's back yard. Was great lol |

Well I tried that but it seems that people would rather buy lemonade from a ten year old then a 14 year old...... |

I'd say "get a job" but at the age of 14, that can be hard. If your parents know any small business owners, see if they can get you a job with them on the weekends. |

You probably can't get a job, so as others have suggested, shovel snow and do odd jobs for people in order to get the money. If that fails, ask your parents if there is a way you can "work off" the remaining balance, such as doing more chores or home projects. That's what I used to do when I wanted something and couldn't get the money. |

This may sound like I'm joking but believe me I'm not - check sofa and chair cushions in your house. Both the cushions and the space underneath have this uncanny ability to attract things, especially pocket change. I cleaned mine out this past weekend and I found over $10 in change, mostly quarters and dimes. Since you have a specific goal, every little bit helps. Happy hunting. |

I know this is the wrong time of the year, but if you get on the team for whoever runs the local fair, and help to clean up after the fair is over, once the carnival rides move out, go to clean up that area... especially rides that flip upside down. One year I walked out of the deal with about 6 pocketknives, and like $100 in change in just a few hours lol |

Nice thought but surely your just collecting your own money so you haven't exactly made a profit. Unless you check around other people's homes which would be a bit odd. Edited by FisHeaD, Nov 10 2010, 03:00 PM.

True, but it's money that you didn't know you had and you didn't miss when it rolled down there, so it's technically profit...at least according to my logic. When you're scrimping together money for something, you look for any avenue (preferably legal) to obtain it, which includes getting change together. Another option would be to sell some stuff you own, such as games, DVDs, CDs, or anything you don't really need and can stand to part with. I hate selling things myself, but I've been in situation where there is something I so badly wanted and I had to make these choices. |

are there even 250g kinect bundels? I thought there was just a 4g model which is lame to begin with. In regards to money since you are to young to get a job id recommend maybe selling some things that you dont use. Also since we are in the game forum try finding games around thrift store and goodwills. Buy them and flip them for a profit. Who knows maybe youll find ff7 for 5 bucks and flip it for 50? If that fails shovel snow or try for a paper route. You would have to get up early but if you dont like it after a month you might have enough money. |

Just do what I use to do; do an odd job (within reason) and make quick cash. As people brought up snow plowing, raking leaves, and doing lawns are the simplest ways for someone your age. Or you could steal a Kinect and an Xbox 360 (I just do not recommend this one.) Or see if a pal will sell you a cheap working 360, and then buy a new Kinect to save on cash. Yes they make them, and as soon as it snows I will be doing snow shoveling. But here in Indiana it starts to snow during November 15-January 10. So about two months. |
