Good luck to anyone shopping or especially those working in retail today!

These aren't the droids we're looking for.

Gah, this morning was my first Black Friday working at Wal-Mart - and they put me on a register.... They had two sales; one at midnight, which was general merchandise, and one at 5:00am, which was electronic stuff (computers, TVs, games, movies), and Geezus, when they took the wrappings off of the 5:00am merchandise you could literally hear EVERYONE move forward to grab everything. Then, naturally, I was manning the closest register, so they flooded over to me after about 15 seconds.

Oh well, at least I got some good deals when I got off work, haha.

I know our Boxing Day sales don't usually compare to the Black Friday sales but we still have pretty good sales. Though I have never heard of or seen violence at all. Maybe ours are just more controlled.

When I got my computer at Future Shop (largest Canadian electronics store, think of Best Buy - same company) I lined up early and when the store opened it was still very calm feeling as people went to what they wanted.
However at WalMart the old ladies sometimes get impatient, but are usually harmless.
