This has become one of my favorite shows on TV. When I first heard about it a few years back, I was thinking to myself that it's a terrible idea; following someone around with a camera while they do drugs/drink/self-harm, but after watching it I was hooked. It's one of the best documentary shows on TV and it shows not only the effect of addiction on the addict but also on their family and friends. The most memorable episodes for me are the alcoholics, which I have a strong opinion of since I've had a few of those in my own family, and people with the more unusual addictions like huffing (that girl who inhales computer duster), video game addiction and compulsive shopping. The only ones I cannot stand to watch and I will turn off are the bulimics; something about seeing vomit just turns me right off. Anyone else watch this show? |

I've never heard of the show, but I can relate. Two of my best friends and my family moved to Georgia (from New Hampshire) because they're dad got a position as pastor at a church there. After a while, one of them came up to visit which was awesome. After a while I found out that my friend who didn't visit got into drugs, stealing, and other terrible things. Shortly after finding the other who visited on Facebook, I saw that he was posting things about drugs, hating his parents, and worse things. I de-friended him and literally cried for a while. Thankfully, I then found out that my best friend had gotten over all this and is back to his old self again. Later, I even found out that his brother got over it too and I got to see him a few months ago! (Except he now has a problem with swearing but it's a lot better). I'm glad that they've improved and thanks for reading this post if you bothered.

I've been watching it for three years now, well, my mom has but it's on sometimes when I'm around. So from the time I was 12 to now basically. I suppose it doesn't phase me too much, because I've known a decent amount of addicts in my life. Then again, from time to time, it just phases me that much more because of that. :\

I recently watched an episode of Intervention. It was a very interesting show. It really showed what really happens to people who do drugs. |
