This is how it is for me - For platformers, which is my favorite genre of games, I prefer consoles. - For competitive shooters, I prefer consoles because my reflexes are faster and there is no graphical issues - For RPGs, including action and turn-based, I prefer PC gaming because I have a powerful PC and I find it much more easier to play - For regular shooters by which I mean completing everything in the game but playing multiplayer, I prefer PC gaming because like I said, I have a powerful PC and I generally prefer to consoles because of comfort. Another plus about playing games on my PC is that I always have a walkthrough right by the game so I don't have to keep looking back and forth from monitor to TV. I always use a walkthrough for every game I play because I am a completionist.

Depends what the game is. If its a real time strategy game or Online rpg PC wins. ALL platformers i play are on consoles. I prefer to play "social" games on PC. I rarely communicate online on my xbox 360. Unless ofc with a real life friend.

I like gaming, no preference of platform. If a game play better on one, I play on that one, that's all. I play FPS, RTS and some RPG on PC, everything else on consoles. What's all about those "wars" anyway? PC VS. COnsoles, Microsoft VS. Sony and in the old days, Sega VS. Nintendo... I never liked that and never will. Play the games you like and if you don't like it, leave it to someone else to enjoy it. |

Well now that I am considered a PC gamer since I have a monster pc gaming computer and being a long time huge console gamer it was a tough decision. I mean...I think we can agree on this much. FPS, MMORPG, RTS games are better on the PC. Everything else is better on the console. Though, I will say that WRPGs have to go to the PC. |

I prefer Console gaming because it's easier to have friends come over. I also just think it's nicer because you don't have to worry about Hard Drive Space or hardware specs. Especially in Online games, there is a lot less hacking. Although I always enjoy going to an internet cafe because it's a huge change. I would like to eventually within a few years get around to making and maintaining a gaming computer. |

I prefer console gaming overall...except for when it comes to FPS games, then I prefer PC. I just enjoy the controls more on PC for FPS games.

PC Gaming: I use for only a few games including but not limited to Blizzard titles, Team Fortress 2, and other RTS/Small Puzzle/FPS games Consoles: Pretty much fill the gap. I'm not a picky gamer. I do love the convenience of using a console for relaxation and nostalgia. I love computer gaming at the same time because many of the games that are on computer I really love playing. As for the hacking in pc gaming as stated in earlier posts, I haven't noticed any to be completely honest. In fact I noticed more hacking in Xbox Live than in PC gaming. But that's what I see. Maybe other people see differently or etc. |

Well, I was an avid PC gamer since 1990. All that changed in 2009 when I got myself an X360 (actually my first console ever). What happened? Well, I like the "comfort" of the console+couch+TV combination. I was actually in school 2004-2009 (university grad school) and I had to study a lot (which involves a lo of sitting). That meant that after a long study session I just couldn't sit (again) in order to play some games. Luckily when I graduated I returned to gaming in general and then I got my X360 and then PS3, etc... To sum it up: After almost 20yrs of PC gaming I am happy to say that I prefer consoles over PC simply because of the comfort. And trust me, now that I'm working full time job, my back & health appreciate it even more. But that doesn't mean that I don't play PC games at all...I do. I recently enjoyed Starcraft II and I got myself Deus Ex Collection the other day and I'm playing that, too. And WoW is in the plans also...

I used to play a lot of games on the PC years and years ago but I slowly moved away from PC and more towards consoles. These days I much prefer console gaming over PC gaming. |

This is a really tough one, but I guess it all comes down to what games I am playing. I started playing FPS games on the PC, and I mastered FPS games on the PC. But last year I convinced myself too move all my FPS gaming onto the 360, so I would be able to play with my friends, but I don't think ill ever become as good as I was on the PC. For regular action games I usually go with the console, simply because that's what seems more natural to me. However I don't think that's always the best choice... For example I played Just Cause 2 on the PC, while like 85% played it on a console. And I have to say the PC experrience was much much better, the controlls the graphics etc etc. For RPG's, the PC does offer something that a console can't; a keyboard. You have way more buttons available than you have on a controller. But I have to admit, that for the most part I do prefer playing on a console... I don't have to upgrade my console every year, I don't have to worry and technical issues and virusses, I can play a multiplayer game without having any lagg or disconnections, and I can invite some friends over for some splitscreen action. That said, I won't stop playing games on the PC, even if I have to upgrade it all the time

I would say PC but it is quite expensive to keep up with the hardware. But if you can afford it than I would say PC all the way. Edited by Caleb the terrible, Jan 15 2011, 03:17 PM.

Console gaming. I don't find many games that I would like on the PC, besides things like Halo and Space Siege. Console, has a lot of games that will keep me satisfied, will PC just... Doesn't. |

Console gaming, because all of the genres I enjoy like JRPGs, 3D action adventure games, Mario, and other SRPGs not made by US companies (nothing against those made by US companies, just don't play those because...I have no idea why, really) are primarily developed for consoles/handhelds. To be honest, most of my PC gaming is playing emulated versions of RPGs and the like that are Japanese only. |
Can we please fix the quoting system? Pretty please?

1. You can change setting to fit you making it easier to play. A good gaming keyboard makes it alot nicer as they are comfy and easy to use or buy a game pad or controller. 2. More lag on consoles with host problems but with PC in a decent sever with a good connect there is no unless it is your system 3.Worth the money it will still be a all round system for watching films, word processing and Web browsing. You can make a decent PC for £300 and you can play the latests games you do not need to max out settings play with the recommend for your system. 4. Not if you use programs like steam they have "vac (Value anti-cheat)" and Admins who can monitor you can ban/remove you for cheating which makes cheating practically impossible and you get banned for trying, so the servers are clean. 5. Not true. If the game is multi-player you can go online by selecting a server on popular games like Team fortress 2 there are over 900 severs and 32 players to server all cheats and hacks are disabled and using them you can get banned from the servers and maybe steam I love pc gaming and its great fun as you can update in game content like skins and textures making lots of different game types to play. but i still love consoles as some games are not released to PC Sorry for any mistakes as I'm tired and want to go to bed so I typed quickly. I've never really played a lot on my PC and hardly considered myself a PC gamer, but I can totally its its merits. Oh yeah, and with the Steam/PS3 version of Portal 2 being able to cross platform play/chat, its gonna be a marriage made in heaven. |
