Level 7 Posts: 1,375 Group: Members Member #1,866 Joined: Apr 3, 2010	I got my learner's when I was still 17, just a few days before I turned 18. In January, I'll have had my learner's for 9 months. I live in VA at the moment. So...my question is, in January, will I be able to get my license? And what tests will I have to take? I took a driver's education course in high school. I did not take an in car course. I have been driving with my learner's and a parent. So, will I have to take a driving test with someone from the DMV? Or just a written test? Or what?

Level 6 Posts: 946 Group: Members Member #1,126 Joined: Aug 9, 2009	In Alabama we take the written exam when we get our learners...and then just take the actual driving test to get the license. So I would think yours would be the same unless it differs from state to state.

Level 9 Posts: 2,243 Group: Members Member #1,460 Joined: Dec 21, 2009	Most likely Driving test at the DMV with someone. I'm fairly certain that once your 18, you can just go take the test without any further requirements.
