Here's the new website promoting the new Tales of game. No definitive date yet, but a release some time in 2011 in Japan. To be honest, it doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary for a Tales of game in this platform generation.

I just started playing it but I like it so far, choosing which stats to upgrade is nice and I like how characters talk to each other in the field. I've only played for an hour or two but I'm already interested in the story, they drop a pretty big bombshell on you right at the beginning, can't wait to see what happens next

I havent played more than 2 hours, I love it so far. But there is one big thing holding me back; SMT IV. Got sucked in again after deviating with Tales of Phantasia PSX.

When I come home I continue playing SMT IV because it is awesome. Will get back into Xillia soon enough.

Xillia is my first venture into the Tales universe and I am really happy with my purchase. I went with the CE mostly due to my statue fetish and I'm glad I did. This game feels like it's one of those titles that people will be talking about long after the generation ends.

An earlier post mentioned the characters chatting with each other as a strong point and I couldn't agree more. The post combat mini-conversations are priceless. Loving the fluid combat and the visuals are quite pleasant. Looking forward to the Symphonia re-release scheduled for 2014 even more now.

I can't wait to get Xillia. I thoroughly enjoyed Tales of Graces f, so I'm sure I'll love this one!
Rise up against the fanboys and make fun of them instead of kill them.

This is the shortest game in the franchise thus far. They fool you when they say that there are two campaigns. In actuality, the campaigns are very similar to one another. Save a few scenes in particular, the campaigns are identical. The game clocks in at about 30 hours per storyline (if you could even differentiate the two.)

While I enjoy the characters in this game, I can't say that they're particularly well fleshed out. Jude, particularly, irks me to the degree that he acts as a pseudo main character. This is in the same vain as Final Fantasy XII where Vaan was the "protagonist" but it was really Asche. However, this is not to say that I dislike Jude. In fact, I really like his character. He's moral, he's nice, and fairly optimistic albeit naive at times. For once, this is a Tales game where the other characters don't absolutely shit on the protagonist. (cough cough Luke fon Fabre cough cough Asbel Lhant cough sometimes Yuri). Overall is this the best game in the Tales of franchise? Absolutely not. Although, I hear that Tales of Xillia 2 might just be...

Hyped! I gotta pop in Tales of Xillia sometime soon. My brother is hogging the PS3 with Demon's Souls at the moment.

There are some parts of this game that I had seriously forgotten. The boss at the end of the second arc is really epic. Love the environment.

Finished Jude's story, loved it! The final boss is just awesome and I think it's my new favorite Tales character. Now it's time to unlock some more titles before moving on to Milla's story on NG+ :D

The game wasn't too short for me, I took my time and did a lot of loot collecting and sub events and ended with around 34 hours. The only things I don't like about the game are some copy&pasted areas and the lack of dungeons/puzzles, it's very linear.

Oh and I almost forgot to mention the mutton guy. HE'S EVERYWHERE BUT YOU CAN'T SEE HIM. It's a cool idea to make it sound like the towns are alive but come on, use more than a couple of sound clips so it's not just "MUTTON! FRESH MUTTON!" every 5 seconds.

I've learned that Ufotable does the animation cut scenes for the tales games (including this one), so i'm going to go and start playing games in the tales games eventually... Probably should have started playing it sooner.

The Anime cut scenes in this game are jaw-dropping. If you like Anime, then you will certainly like the Tales of series. You are playing an Anime basically.

I started playing this when first released, couldn't quite understand the linked combat system, then gave up. Think I will give it another try from the beginning,as it did seem good until I got stuck. Just got so many games in my backlog, and not enough time.
