There hasn't been a huge amount of albums I listened to this year, there is a lot I will evuantually get to. Like some on this list : http://www.last.fm/user/ChrisCappello/journal/2010/12/15/43s9qg_top_50_albums_of_2010_with_lil'_reviews But that will be a while. But from what I listened to, I'll do my top 5 Albums of 2010. What is your AOTY 2010? I narrowed it down to my top 5 5. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Kanye West released November 22, 2010 ![]() This I will not go into much, I'm sure there was already discussions here. I'll simply put it was not my favorite Kanye album, but still a good one. 4. Recovery Eminem Released June 18, 2010 ![]() Okay I don't really have to say much hasn't this already been talked about enough.. all these talks about this year..sooooo much talk about eminem. Well all I have to say is I really enjoyed this album also. 3. That’s How We Burn Jaill Released June 2010 Ah Jaill signed under my favorite label sub-pop. This band doesn't get too much attention..But I can see them blowing up, but from what I heard their shows get a very very low crowd which is a shame because they have good music, the album has since grown on me since first listening, now I enjoy it every time. Jaill-The Stroller Check em out if you haven't. 2. Stuck on Nothing Free Energy released May 4, 2010 ![]() Now this album I just started listening to fairly recently, but it is pretty amazing. The albums first song is self titled giving a good representation of the band. It has sounds that will easily remind you of some classic bands, thin lizzy being notable that all ties in well. Free Energy-Free Energy 1. Fang Island Fang Island Release date: February 23, 2010 ![]() This album really surprised me, It got recommended to me and I didn't think I would like it, but I dl'd it and it was amzing at first listen. First to last track I like this album, so then I dl'd their two ep's, but this stood out by far. If you haven't checked them out do so. Fang Island-Daisy There's my current list from all of what 2010 releases I have listened to of course. |

I don't listen to much new music, but I guess Imperfect Harmonies by Serj Tankian would be my pick. |

2010 has been, simply put, an amazing year for music and I have bought loads of albums, though for me that's pretty normal. My top 15 albums of the year, in no particular order, are as follows: New Albums: The Black Keys - Brother Interpol - Interpol Arcade Fire - The Suburbs The National - High Violet Broken Social Scene - Forgiveness Rock Record Band of Horses - Infinite Arms Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest Eels - End Times Spoon - Transference Foals - Total Life Forever Local Natives - Gorilla Manor Beach House - Teen Dream Hot Chip - One Life Stand Mumford & Sons - Sigh No More LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening Re-Issues: Bruce Springsteen - Darkness on the Edge of Town (Deluxe Re-Issue) Miles Davis - Kind of Blue, Sketches of Spain and Bitches Brew (Legacy Edition Re-Issues) Bob Dylan - The Witmark Demos: 1962 - 1964 I could easily have a Top 50 list of albums I've purchased and enjoyed this year, but the above are by far my favorties. Here's to a great 2011

@Browland Seriously man, I love 90% of the albums and bands you've put there. Mumford & sons and Foals are probably my favourite from the list. Personally, I enjoyed listening to: Gorillaz- Plastic Beach Biffy Clyro- Only revolutions The XX- XX Kele- The Boxer Hopefully 2011 will be just as good music-wise. Im looking forward to the new album by The strokes next year. |
