3DS Posts: 1,580 Group: Members Member #1,218 Joined: Sep 5, 2009	Nah, just going to preorder it from Amazon, that is, if it's not too expensive. I didn't buy a regular DS (lite) until about 5 years into the gen anyway, and I have a super huge backlog as it is. But then again a lot of the games I like are the DS are getting sequels on the 3DS, so if I feel like continuing those series, I'll have to give in eventually and get one. I do look forward to the better graphics though and hopefully larger games on the more capable 3DS. If I do, it'll be the first system I've ever got on launch date, so it should be interesting. If it's not too expensive and Amazon offers cash back and/or 99 cent release date delivery, I'll definitely get it there. There's also a lot of DS games coming out around then, too, and a bunch of PSP games I'm interested in. Can't have'em all!

Ds Games! Posts: 3,129 Group: Moderator Member #511 Joined: Apr 6, 2009	I'd like to but at the gamestop closest to me, its just too crowded. People were there camping almost a day in advance for the wii, and theres the fact that they never get enough as it is. I'm planning to hopefully get there really early a couple of weeks after the launch and see if I can get it then, but I'm starting to doubt it, because the store just does too much business.

I called every store in town and then I called my best buy and they said yeah come in and get it. My mom went out and picked it up with my little bro and she said they had tons of them. I don't think that will ever happen again, but it was interesting getting a super popular system day 1 without reserve/camping.

If it comes out on a night I'm not working I'll go out before midnight and see if I can get one. If I have to work that day, I may be able to pick it up on my lunch break, if it's not against the rules, haha.

The U.S release date games have yet to be announced so I cant be too sure that the games will be the same as the Japanese games, but so far SFIV 3D and Prof. Layton are the only games that are worthy of buying. Yet again, I have not seen the hardware or any of the 3D effects. Who knows, maybe every game is worth having?

We haven't seen what the 19th will do though, so I may still switch my pre order to amazon if I feel even camping out at gamestop wont get me one. Sadly gamestop by me did not accept pre orders expecting a shortage, they just kept accepting and accepting, and it lead to lines every week when they got their shipment in. Whoever was at the front of the line came first, and it was usually people there about 12 hours in advance. If I think I can get a good enough place in line, then I'll do it, but if I find out all the soccer moms of the area will be out in droves to get a 3ds for their kids, then I may switch to amazon.

Either way I am going several hours early to get a good spot in line... They have no plans on capping off pre orders, and pretty much said, without saying it, there's no chance they're going to be able to fill pre orders. The store has over 110 pre orders already, and this is without the official announcement on the 19th. I'd have to get there so ridiculous early in advance, like literally a day or more, that I don't think it's worth it. I'd rather get it from amazon or have someone ship it to me that lives near a gamestop that isn't so busy and just have to wait the days it takes to get to me.

Still, I'd like to be able to come out and see what it's like for the people camping out (those brave souls :)), so I might go to a Target or a GameStop at 3DS launch just for that.

Don't think I could ever be bothered camping out for any release when you can order most places online and get it earlier to your door.

Its just my personal preference to wait at least a year before I buy a new system. At least that way they can address any possible bugs or flaws that maybe come with the systems release. It'll probably drop in price. More than likely there will be a better selection of games after a year anyway. I'm usually behind when it comes to new games and system, but I'm always perfectly content with playing and enjoying games several generations. I feel confident that I will eventually own a 3DS but not anytime in the near future.
