Just mention some of the companys that have closed there doors over the past 10 years or so. Just tell us why you miss them

For me it would be:

Free Radical- I still play time splitters a lot and star wars battlefront is a master piece.

Iron lore- this developer died young before it even got to prove itself although the one game it got to produce, titan quest, was a semi diablo clone but was still very top notch. I just wish this company had a second chance.

Didn't like Battlefront too much because I bought it day 1 on PC. It was a turd on the PC. Bugs galore and console sized maps and it was imbalanced. Never fixed etc etc.

Have to agree on Iron Lore. I love Titan Quest. Shame that they went belly up. They blamed piracy + bad reviews ( most of the reviews were from illegal copies because they mentioned bugs which were actually DRM code checks ).

Another would be Flagship. They made the original Hellgate London which is still a pretty solid game despite its servers closing. ( should be back though soon as a Korean company has rights and has kept the game code fresh and kicking ).

Realtime Worlds. Created the awesome game 'Crackdown' and then went on to release APB.

Which killed them outright.

APB went cradle2grave in 9months.

Ouchies.

Free Radical didnt make Battlefront, they were rumored to be making the third installment
Pandemic made the first 2, and they shut down last year

Working Designs was pretty sweet. They brought over a whole ton of games to the United States that wpuld have probably never come out here. Sure Victor Ireland I guess turned into a arrogant ahole in the end, but there are a lot of stories out there about how Working Designs ended and them getting screwed over by Sega too. Anyways though they brought over many cool games, the Lunar Series being the most notable for the Sega CD.

New World Computing was pretty cool too they made some PC games most notably Heroes of Might and Magic, but they got swallowed up by 3D0 which was a horrible company and they brought down NWC with them...Heroes of Might and Magic 5 published by Ubisoft didn't even feel like a Heroes game anymore. It wasn't terrible, but I really didn't enjoy it at all. Heroes IV was much better than it and even that wasn't a well liked game in the community at the time.
Slowbeef: Hold on it's the evil wizard who's spinning and striking a pose. And also giant swords, why the hell not.

I don't think Cing has actually closed yet, but they've filed for bankruptcy, so unless another company buys them up it'll probably only be a matter of time. :peachcry:

I'm hoping they're still together and just waiting to find work. I would love to see last window come to the US although It's highly unlikely at this point I guess. Still, they'd make some awesome ds and 3ds games for sure, so I don't want to see them go away.

Completely agreed. Hotel Dusk is one of my favorite games, and I'd hate to see them gone. I'll import Last Window if I really need to, but I'd definitely prefer a North American localization.
