Amazon pre-orders

I've actually been using Amazon.com for preordering my games for a while now to get the 10 or 20 dollar promotional credit from certain titles. The only drawback to that would be receiving it in the mail like a week or so later. I remember Pete talking about Amazon pre-orders on the podcast, but he mentioned that you can select release day shipping for a dollar, and if you have Amazon Prime, it's free. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I can never find a release day shipping option. The only ones I see are the 1 or 2 day. When I click on one of those, it always brings the price up like 5 bucks so I always choose free standard shipping.

Pre-ordered Little Big Planet 2, and it says I'm expected to get it in another week...it's been out for almost a week already! I mean it's all worth it to get the promotional credit, but if I am doing something wrong, I'd like to know because it would be even better if I could get the games sooner. Anyone else have this problem?

I've only pre-ordered one game from Amazon and had the same problem with this game. DC Universe Online for the PS3 got to my house 4 days later then it was suppose to. I'm guessing the reason games come late is because Amazon has a lot of things to ship out. Actually a MASSIVE amount of things to ship out. That's just a downside of pre-ordering online. I am signed up for Amazon Prime on my brother's Amazon account since he is in college. I have Amazon Prime for free on my account because I am signed up for Amazon Mom, LoL.

Yeah that's true....they probably can only do so many "release day" shipments, and then quit. It sucks waiting for them sometimes, but the discount is well worth it.

You're lucky to be able to use Prime for free. I was able to get the free trial during the Christmas season, so it definitely helped out, but I don't purchase enough from their store to pay for it.

Not sure if this will come off arrogant, but every time I've preordered a game from Amazon I've selected the release day option, and only one time was it late (Call of Duty: Black Ops.) Sometimes they do not include the option if you order too early. I also believe it isn't an option for lesser known games.

It's different in the UK obviously, we preorder online we almost always get the game early. :)

yeah, i preordered my new vegas with the guide and got it at 9pm on a sunday. I was very impressed! I hate the fact that mail comes in the morning, who the hell is in during the day if you have a fulltime job?
