Level 4 Posts: 330 Group: Members Member #2,061 Joined: May 31, 2010	this is a rant on insults over online gaming: 1. whats the point of fighting with someone online anyway? not like you have anything to prove to sombody or like that person can kill you, so its not like your gonna gain somthing 2. why is the word "gay" or "faggot" the two most used insults on the internet? I a homosexual, so whats wrong with that? bot like being called a "faggot" offends me at all, but people on the internetz use like its a sin 3. death threats, are you kidding me? death threats? your half way across the world from me, i would like too see you tr to kill me. 4. what ever happend to video games being fun? now its just a bunch of people spewing cuss words all the time and yelling at pepz. well, what do you think of online gaming? plez no hate! I'm not saying it's right or anything, but all of these things exist in other arenas outside of gaming. It does bother me as well, but that's why vents/xbl party chat was invented.

I have a mantra about this sort of thing, I don't complain about anything that has an off switch - or mute.

Alas, their stupid insults are pointless, but so too is complaining or 'ranting' about it. Switch them off, or avoid.

If you're being put down or harassed, the best way to get back at the person is to beat them fair and square. They can say whatever they want but if they can't back it up with their play, then you can take it with a grain of salt. Just smash them and the rest will take care of itself.

Its those who go one too far and take it seriously which make online gaming difficult to have fun with. Playing with friends and talking in a party is the true way to enjoy multiplayer games without being harased or bothered.

The thing is, some douche bags start taking it seriously and start insulting other people. Thankfully, you can always mute the fuckers. What I always found hilarious is when people call you a noob even though you just kicked their ass. So if I'm a noob, and I beat you, what does that make you?!

Unless you are playing with a group of trusted friends, count on somebody mouthing off, calling you names and the like. Personally, I don't have as much time to play games as I used to, so I choose not to waste it playing with idiots who are going to make playing an endurance trial. Added to which, I'm not much into competitive multiplayer in games like Call of Duty or Halo, which is where many of the morons seem to congregate. If I want to play competitively with strangers, I will play a racing game and mute my mic...unless there is some intelligent discussion I fancy being a part of. So yeah, what you're ranting about is something you can easily avoid by not using your headset or limiting your interactions to people you know. Simple as that.

Online gaming has been ruined for me by all those 14 year old reproduction failures that play halo or whatever FPS is "cool" right now and just never shut the !@#$ up. I just don't need the aggravation, so I choose not to participate in it.

I have problems with hand-eye coordination and timing, which affects my gaming, so I'm not very competitive. I just play because I enjoy games, but I hate it when people on XBL are always yelling at me, stuff like "dude you suck!" or "wow...just wow." It drives me bonkers. I've learned to not let it get to me, though. I've also noticed that XBL has this problem more then PSN, though.
	Used to be So1001. But still, I'm...The Virtual Boy Gamer Reviews, Collections, Game Talk, and all that great stuff!

I bitch a bit to myself when i get raped at spawning points or if i keep getting hit with mortar strikes by campers. I play them even though i suck, but i find it very comforting when i compare games and all they play is moh, cod, battlefield etc. Of which, all are done with 1000gp. So much for the self titled "harcore gamers"...
