I personally am giving up videogames :/ and swearing. However, my parents promised me that if I keep my word on that, they'll give me a 3DS! Just wanted to know what you guys are giving up!

Nothing I'm not an infidel. :bowserlaugh:

Surely being rewarded for Lent kind of defeats the whole point?

i dont personally think this is topic for religious debate, given the title, i would assume its for people that are giving something up for lent...

I'm no religious personally, but if I had to pick, I would give up meat or sugar. These are two things I have daily and would probably be inclined to give up.

Thank you for making some sense around here every so often. It was a very simple question that can be answered very easily and yet people seem to be taking it far beyond that.

I always do lent just for a challenge, this year I'm giving up tea in my sugar. This is hard as being a stereotypical Englishman I drink tea all the time and I have two sugars in every tea.

Im not religious myself but each year instead of giving up something I try to do something for myself & others around me. Giving up sweets/gaming/cursing is grand for 40 days but I try to do something that I can keep on doing. No ideas this year but tis early days yet.

It wasn't your comment. To say your not giving up anything because your not religious isn't drawing the topic into any different directions.

Real DC, it seems like you kinda mean like a new years resolution where you try to keep a promise to yourself throughout the year, which is always a good thing.

Good luck giving up sugar in your tea bolton, you can always go for the loop hole and start drinking coffee, that way you can have it with sugar and still be giving up sugar in your tea.

I'm not Catholic, but I think Lent is a healthy practice so I usually try to give something up. Had forgotten about it this year until now though... hm... I might give up buying non-necessities to teach myself to show a touch more restraint with my moneys. :coin:
So says Mr. Stewart.
