I always hear people saying or complaining that they have games and dvd's that won't play because it is scratched. I used to use machines to resurface, but they can get really expensive with getting supplies refilled. This is what I do now to fix my disc's. Remember this can make the cd totally unreadable. Step 1 - Using 1200 grit sandpaper I wetsand the disc going from the center of the disc to the outer edge as I move around the cd. Step 2 - Polish with lens cloth or a soft lint-free cloth, using toothpaste(NOT the gel kind) going again from the center to the outside edge Step 3 - Final buff with lens cloth and Brasso. Step 4 - clean and rinse CD with soap and water. Pat dry with kleen, soft towel NOTE - the polishing process can take a while. Hope this helps. Brian |
