I liked yellow mellow and code red mountain dew. They don't sell them, well at least where I live, here in Ontario. |

I remember that one summer Surge had a contest and about 50% of the caps on their soda was a free surge. That same summer, the local gas station had a buy 1 get 1 free sale on surge. If you had a cap for a free one they would consider that buying one, and give you one free. So basically my friend and I went there everyday for surge. By the end of the summer we had actually paid for about 4 surge's but we had drank at least 2 a piece a day the entire summer. we filled up the large hatchback and back seat portion of my car at least 3 times with empty surge bottles. I can't say that I really miss the soda, but it was a great deal I think.

You just reminded me! There used to be a drink called Citra... It was rebranded by Fanta as Fanta Citrus. I've never seen it in the states even though I've heard it hit select markets. I had it over in the Middle East a while back though, and it was probably the best soda I've ever had! It is supposedly grapefruit flavored, and I hate grapefruit, but this soda is awesome!!!... I guess for now I'll have to stick with the awesome Fanta Lime that they have out.![]() |

OK Soda. I didn't even know about it when it was a thing (since I was a kid), but a nihilist beverage is the type of thing - bizarre, pseudophilosophical, and destined for failure - I could have gotten behind.

I remember Crystal Pepsi quite well and I rather liked it. In fact, there was this short-lived craze for clear cola and a few other beverage makes followed suit. It tasted a lot sweeter than the regular cola, but I liked it. Sadly, it died a quick death in 1993. |

The only place I ever got Surge was at one of my favorite restaurant chains, Steak N Shake, so that was always a good bonus of going there. I had completely forgotten about Code Red Mountain Dew, that stuff was delicious. From what I remember it was a pretty stereotypical gamer/nerd drink lol, but I loved it! Back my freshman year of high school, our table at lunch used to drop Zours (anyone remember that candy?) into Sprite Remix and it would fizz up and almost explode, but it would add an even more fruity taste to it. Dumb ritual, but a great memory lol. |
