The only Rpgs i've ever played on GBA were the pokemon series, Final Fantasy tactics advance, Fire emblem, And this differnt game called Riviera: the promised land. They were all great games, But there are soo many great rpg's for the ds i feel like i must of missed out on a lot of great GBA RPG's too. Could you Help me out?

One series with one strong fan-base, is Golden Sun. I have never played it, but i for shure know that the soundtrack is amazing, and the gameplay looks ill. Golden Sun Battle Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s355mlGUt1c

Anyways, this is the wrong section. It should be in "Nintendo".

I've moved this topic to the "Past Generations" section.

Golden Sun is a fantastic RPG that I remember fondly, though I have yet to get the new one on the DS. They also re-released Final Fantasy IV and VI, both of which are classics from the 16-bit era and ones that every RPG fan should play at least once in their lives.

How is golden sun for someone who does not play that many turn based rpg's. I heard a lot of good thing's about it so i've been thinking about buying more GBA game's because i don't have that many only about 8 or 7.

As RPGs go, Golden Sun is very accessible for newcomers to the genre. The battle system is not too difficult to grasp and the story will definitely keep you interested, so I would say that it's a safe purchase.

Ds Games!

Definitely go with golden sun 1 and 2 if you can find them. Tons of things to do, awesome art and music, and doesn't requires tons and grinding or anything overly complex.

I Like Games.

I always swear by Riviera The Promised Land (there is also an enhanced remake for the PSP, but bear in mind it has load times now). Its a love or hate game due to its totally unique concept of dungeon crawling and combat, but those that like it get hooked!

Megaman Battle network series are great~
^Those games are some of my favorite GBA games of all time.
I'd also suggest the remake of Link to the Past on the GBA.
Also, there's Summon Night and Summon Night 2. If you ever played a Tales game, it's pretty much the same thing, only you make your weapons.
Speaking of Tales, there's Tales of Phantasia, a port of the SNES game, and it's great. The updated sprites were really nice.

I've never played the final fantasy series, except tactics advance, is it the sort of series i have to play from the first game to understand it?

Tales of phantasia seems really intresting. And I played a bit of summon night a long time ago, I just can't seem to find any of them anywhere.

I'll second Pete. I bought Riveria: the Promised land on day one. It's a game that most people forgot about just because how late it came out for the GBA. Give it a go if you think you want something with challenge and is unique. I don't know if the PSP version is much more enhanced or not ( I think I read there was voice acting in it).

A few games that no one has mentioned yet are

Onimusha Tactics - which is a pretty straight forward tactical RPG but it's fun and has the onimusha license backing it.

Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis - a must have for the GBA for any RPG fan. It's complex and difficult to really appreciate at first. After a while it grows on you and you can't put it down.

CIMA: The Enemy - This is sort of like a Zelda game in a way. Basically there are a number of puzzles that need to be solved with the help of the survivors that you are saving along the way. It has some action sequences thrown in it, but the bulk of the game is getting through the puzzles with everyone alive.
