The topic is pretty self-explanatory!

I and my girlfriend are having a moving in party for her (I found a girl whos willing living with me and my games, yeei me!). And I'm wondering what are you're favorites when it comes to party beverages?

Myself, being a huge fan of the Big Lewboski always want to have a White Russian in hand. Having spent some time in Ireland, I also developed a taste for Whiskey, alas I only can afford the cheapest ones, so Jameson is what I have now, but the favorite is Bushmills.

And ofcourse beer, now in the summer I like light-beers like Corona and Miller. In the winter I prefer it slightly darker, but I'm not man enough for the Beamish.

Cheers my fellow gamers !

I was really sure this thread already existed, but i cant seem to find it. Oh well.

Most of the time i just drink Cider or beer, lager to be specific. Its fairly cheap, widely available and doesnt mess me up after only a few of them haha. I drink a lot of dark rum too and if im feeling frisky i go for the jagerbombs. One of my best friends loves tequila, so she makes margheritas all the time, so i get in on that too.

It depends on my mood, but I enjoy a wide selection of wine, beer and spirits. Beer-wise, my taste ranges from lagers and pilsners to the nice dark ales and amber brews. We have two fantastic brands in Toronto called Mill Street and Steam Whistle, both of which brew fantastic beers. Brands I enjoy currently include Lauwenbrau, DAB, Gosser, Heienkin, Asahi and Zyvek. The more watery beers like Bud and Coors I tend to avoid.

In terms of wine, I like white and red provided that it's more on the dry side, since I'm not a fan of sweet wines. Hard alcohol-wise, I like a good scotch, whiskey and a well aged rum. If I'm mixing, it's either Crown Royal or Jack Daniel's with diet coke.

Cheers!

I like to start off with cider like Magners, strongbow or Bullmers. Then we move on to the stronger stuff like shots of vodka. I once had a strange concoction of vodka mixed with the cream from creme eggs but I wouldn't recommend it.

I drink Smokehead scotch. Very petey, very smokey (obviously) taste. In terms of beer, here in Indianapolis we have two VERY VERY VERY VERY good local breweries; Sun King and Three Floyds. Both nationally recognized and very popular. Sun King has a Scottish Dark Ale called "Wee Mac," that I love. It has a nice pour, kind of a coffee, smokey flavor to it. Three Floyds has a beer called "Gumball Head," probably one of the best wheat beers I have ever had.

I went to Florida in March for vacation. My wife and I were walking along the beach when an "over-exuberant" high school girl stopped to talk to us about our wine we were drinking. She asked us if we were fans of Merlot.....Very rare, apparently...When we replied yes, she responded that she was "sipping on" Four Loko and Red Bull.

It's probably 50/50 on whether or not she had a heart attack that night, right?

I have never been a fan of alcohol, but i have to admit i do enjoy a nice cold beer when it's really hot. I also really like Red Wine, if it has a certain Quality.

Didn't they outlaw Four Loko recently? I was reading that they are banning those high alcohol energy drinks because of deaths in college students. I tried Four Loko a few years back and it tasted horrible, so it's no loss I guess.

I don't drink, but previously I enjoyed the following:

Coors Lite - Alcoholic water, went down too nicely on a hot day.
Cusquena
Apart from those two, I loved, LOVED Asian lager:

Harbin
Asahi
Sapporo
but they all fell short for the MASTER: TSINGTAO.

ALL HAIL TSINGTAO.

It became a huge high school fad (in the US) so they did ban it to remove the caffeine, and now it's back. They taste like battery acid.

Just give me a Mike and I'm good or the classic rum and coke, Spiced rum gives you a vanilla coke by the way. Another good drink is two parts 7up or sprite with one part apple vodka and Melon liqueur, tastes like a jolly rancher.
defeating a sandwich only makes it tastier

I also like a good Moosehead Lager, I believe it's Canada's oldest independent brewery?

As far as hard alcohol drinks, I like Seagram's Seven with 7Up or Rum & Coke

Being Irish Im quite fond of a drink or 2 so I'll try to keep this short(ish)

Beer: Paulaner, Tiger, heineken, Sam Adams & good old Bud.
Cider: rekorderlig & kopparberg. I dont drink bulmers/magners (same company - one is the Irish name other International name. Drank it from a young age (14) now the smell makes me sick!
Stout: Murphys - Im from Cork so I'd be shot if I drank Guinness!
Liquor: Jager & redbull - on ice dont bother with jagerbombs
Captain Morgans Rum & Coke - Divine

What part of Ireland were you in? If you like whiskey may I recommend middleton whiskey - any year is good. Slightly pricey but hits the spot very well!

I was in Cork actualy, I lived in Bandon Road and frequented the Gallows. Cork is an amazing city, and I'm still shocked till this day about how nice and kind everyone there was. I'm hoping to come back to visit next semester, and then I'll get myself som Middelton Whiskey since you recommend it :)

@Ponch - Moosehead is one of my favorite beers as well. It's available pretty much everywhere in Toronto and it's a staple of my summer barbeques, parties and late night gaming sessions :)
