Although it was released in 2009, it wasn't until recently that I picked up A Boy and His Blob for the Wii. Retro gamers will be familiar with the original, released on the NES a little over 20 years ago. I was quite pleased with this version. It's more of a re-imagining than a straight remake, which is good because the original is kinda rusty. I definitely recommend it to Wii owners. I actually picked up a wii the other week, mainly cause i saw the art in this game and i couldnt pass up the cheap price. Though i still havent got the game yet. Bit too poor to get it at the moment but i intend on getting it soon. I heard its pretty short and easy though which is a shame, the original was a bugger at times. |

I absolutely fell in love with A Boy and His Blob when I played it. Completed 50% of it over a few days before sitting it aside. It's just such a charming game, and the graphics are quite beautiful - probably my favorite out of any game I've played this generation. I found myself replaying levels just to see the backgrounds and stuff again. Once you get used to the play mechanics it gets really hard to put down. It's not an especially hard game, mostly, but there are some very challenging spots. I think I picked my copy up for about $10 back in 2010, which is a shame, because it should have sold a lot better than it did. If you happen to see it and like beautiful, creative games, give it a shot. Actually, I think I'm going to start playing it again.... |
