I recently put this old school RPG into my playstation. I haven't played my playstation in about 6 months and haven't touched an RPG in at least 2 years. I have nothing against them, they just require a lot of time lol. I'm currently about 25 hours into the game and really enjoying it. The battle system is great, the dragon transformations & customizing of the abilities is a really unique feature. I did get to the desert when I was younger in the game and couldn't figure out how to get past that part, however I am looking forward to the awesome parts of the game that follow after that (have an idea of what happens). I'm enjoying it as much as I enjoyed BoFII on the GBA, and that's definitely a good thing :nessfall:

i've been considering playing it again myself but on psp. Played it years ago but have since lost a lot of interest in jrpg's.

I dont really have much time and a lot of the time the story just bores me. I'll have to pick it up again though, i remember quite enjoying it and i can play it on the move with my psp. :)

I agree that the story isn't the strong point of the game and I find it sometimes hard to understand. I really don't understand why Momo actually goes with you the first time you meet her and I really feel like they are dragging out the "truth" that they are searching for without actually giving you any answer or hint of an answer most of the game. I find the combat to be the most rewarding experience in it. I'm also liking the Faerie Village part of the game as well. It really just love the building up a town from scratch experience.

Well I'm at the end. I get to fight the "God" of the game and I'm severely underleveled for it. I'm going to spend an hour sometime this week training in the end area and hopefully be good enough to see this game's ending. I hate to say it, but I'm glad I'm about done. 40 hour long RPGs are brutal :peachcry:

It's an ok game, but it's not as good as BoF 2 or BoF 4 in my opinion. If you haven't played BoF 4 definitely give it a try! It's a fantastic-looking and sounding PS1 rpg.

I did pop in BoF4 in after beating 3 and just couldn't get into it right off. I put about an hour and a half into it and didn't get super excited like I did when i played it when I was younger. I'm going to try putting it in again after the holidays are over, things are just too busy with family and work right now :prinny1:

I did end up beating BoF 2 a few times back in the day though. I agree, it really is a fantastic game. I really want to try the original and see how it is, never tried it before and I'm very curious.
