I hate Call of Duty. I think it's trash and I think they release way too many of them. It's like Madden and other sports games that come out every year with no new content. All they should do for CoD is make that crap downloadable with a bunch of DLC that brings new content every once in a while. The graphics are always the same. Nothing impressive.

Battlefield 3 will blow it out of the water. Too bad everyone will buy MW3 anyway and it will sell more than BF3.

Gears of War 3 will also be better.

Yeah I'm a troll.

Iv been hearing alot of stuff that there changing and it sounds promising like creating maps to stop areas of camping. for example nuke town there going to avoid maps like that. Also players who dont go to objectives and play offensively dont nearly revieve as much xp as players who do there also not bringing back overpowered perks like the noobiest danger close crap but Im mainly interested to see how infinity ward is going to do with this game

I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Every year brings a new Call of Duty game, and people are going to love and hate it in equal measure. Play it and see if you like it, then decide for yourself. The series has become mainstream and the games are starting to show the cookie-cutter effect, so don't expect anything earth-shattering. If you're into CoD, you're probably going to like it. If you're a hater, you'll find plenty of reasons to keep hating. The whole CoD debate has become very tiresome, in my opinion.

Having said that, I've bought all of the Call of Duty games and enjoyed the frantic, albeit brief, campaigns, so I will likely get MW3 as well. However, given the abundance of excellent games coming out in the same month, I may hold off on getting it at launch. Since I'm not into the multiplayer, there is really no consequence to waiting.

Agreed. COD is simply a cash cow. I hope BF3 does well simply because the business model that Activision is setting as a precedent will make creative games harder to find and dumbed down, expensive DLC (4 $15 map packs for one game? are you kidding me?) the norm.

I might wait for MW3 as in let it come out and then about 6 months later go and rent it. Then I will decide if I will buy it.

There is nothing more I would love to see than MW3 completely fail. Eventually I believe CoD will die just like Guitar Hero or Tony Hawk just due to Activision's "if one's good, a hundred's better" business model. Activision takes a great game and milks the shit out of it and each installment get worse and worse. The first Modern Warfare was a great game and Activision should have left it at that, but now they just shove a new CoD down our throats every year and it's all basically the same game. They should have ended the CoD series a long time ago and let it die with dignity, now it will die a slow painful death as people get sick of buying new games and map packs over and over and over.

Sad thing is though, all the 12 year olds are going to have mommy and daddy buy them the next CoD game every year. Therefore I don't see it ending as soon as I would like it to end. If you ask me its at its peak right now. And we all know what happens after something peaks. What goes up must come down...

Ho! Ho! Ho! Well, here at the north pole, the elves are huge Call of Duty fanelves. They are all excited for MW3. Personally, I prefer Battlefield. BF3 FTW...HO HO HO!!!

Remember: Christmas is around the corner! Be good, and Santa will get you MW3 for your stocking (the bad people will get another copy of Black Ops in their stockings!)

I'm gonna buy it. I enjoyed the last two MW games. I don't like COD's WW2 games and stuff like black ops that much, I go play medal of honor rising sun for that.

It'll probably be better than the last, just because of survival, I've been waiting for a big co-op game mode in COD.

Also, COD games are DEFINATELY not as bad as the sports games.
sports games: Same locations, same players, except like the 5 new ones or whatever, same EXACT game, etc
COD: new stories, new locations, new characters, new guns, new maps, new game modes, etc.

(This is not directed at papasowners but at the general attitude that his post exemplified)

Why would you want to see anything fail when there are people that like it. It's one thing to not like the game and openly state as such. It's a whole different ballgame to want to see something fail because you don't like it. That is the same thing as saying that your opinion is the only one that should count, and that is what I hate about people in this argument year after year. People should attempt to quit being conceited, and just say 'Hey, this games not for me, but if you like it, then enjoy it while it lasts.' Hell, even 'I hate this game' is better than all of the statements that pretty much equate to 'this game that you like should no longer be made because i don't like it or what the company is doing with it.'

As far as milking franchises, you never get away from that in the game industry or any other industry. If it sells there will be more of it down the road(until enough people no longer like the game) As long as people are a fan of a franchise it should thrive.

As far as price vs. content, yeah... that one is a valid debate. You should always fight to get the most for your money.

That being said, the campaigns are the main thing I like about these games, and with the focus being stronger on (or completely on) multiplayer, MW3 may be a rent for me as will be BF3. That is based off of how much I played the last few anyway.

My point exactly. I actually LIKE COD. I can't wait to find out what happens in this installment of the campaign. However, the business plan and price points for that franchise have become bloated and repetitive. I feel that I'm trying to protect the rights of myself and other gamers by not supporting financially what could become a "blueprint for success" that other companies would then follow. I still plan to rent it or borrow it from a friend and feel conflicted about it lol. But it isn't the game itself that I have a problem with. It's the $120+ that Activision throws out there as a price tag for the game, the map packs at $15 a pop, and this new thing (whatever it's called) when I already pay for a Gold Membership on LIVE.

I am not a CoD fan at all. In no way shape or form. I've only owned 2 titles in the series ever and one I hated (which was the first Modern Warfare). However, I decided to buy MW3 on a whim mostly for practice for when Dust514 arrives on the PSN.

I must say, MW3 is an excellent game. Hater's gonna hate but this is a spectacular title. It may very well be on a decline or it may just be having to deal with Skyrim dropping at the end of its opening week. But boring this game is not. I'd say it is a better shooter than most. And I can do ok for myself with a controller. It's tighter than Halo Reach.

Got it on the 360 here.

I picked it up day one and personally I love it. I've been having a blast on MP, and I'm enjoying the SP a lot more than I anticipated. I don't understand all the extreme CoD hate. Each to their own, you know?
