Ah, I can't believe you made an episode for SNK Arcade Classics! I love that collection! This may sound weird, but it's one of my favorite games for the Wii, and I've logged over 100 hours with it. (I'm a total sucker for retro game compilations.)

I love the Neo Geo! I don't own an actual system, but I used to play it in the arcade a bit. I remember the first time I saw Fatal Fury. Even I thought it was a Street Fighter II rip-off, but I still played it occasionally anyway. The style of it just always drew me in with its vibrant colors and great characters. It still has some of my favorite backgrounds of any fighting game, and I love the way they change from round to round.

I think the Neo Geo games I played most in the arcade were King of Fighters '97 and Shock Troopers. I was so glad that Shock Troopers was included on the disc, because it wasn't even released for the Neo Geo AES or CD. IMHO, the compilation is almost worth it just for that game alone.

Man, I wish they had released a Volume 2. :-/

Anyway, Johnny, I absolutely loved the video, and I can't wait for part 2! [metalslug]

Oh yeah!

There was Sega Genesis, the Super Nintendo, the Turbografx-16...and the Neo Geo. It was just on another level. The only thing you could do as a gamer was just to play it in the arcades.

My obsession with this machine happened back in high school. A classmate actually owned the Neo Geo, and invited me over to play it! I couldn't freakin' believe it. To top it all off, he let me BORROW it for like 2 or three days. Unreal!

After that, I didn't care what I had to do, somehow I was going to get my own system.

Oh and then SNK Home Entertainment's TAUNTING and CONDESCENDING ads at that time! lol That stuff used to kill me inside while I played my Genesis.....because I knew they were right!

When I finally got the home system, the Neo was more of an underground machine. (as it still is) And all my friends mobbed to my house and we played it constantly. I still have it, it still works, so many good memories, best times I ever had gaming.

Just saw part 2!

I was surprised to hear Johnny say he liked Shock Troopers 2 better the original. Most people prefer the first one because it had more characters and levels. I've never played the second one myself, so I can't make a judgment.

Top Hunter is a hidden gem. I actually wrote a blog post about it just last week. Would've been cool if there had been a sequel.

Man, I played Metal Slug 3 in the arcade a lot. It's my favorite of the series, too. I remember wishing that it would be ported to the Dreamcast back then (there were rumors), but it was not to be. Fortunately, the Metal Slug Anthology eventually came along!

I remember the Neo Geo I use to play growing up was a 4 slot with Samurai Showdown, Art of Fighting, World Heroes, and I can't remember the 4th one. It was at a bowling ally where my dad use to play in a league. I would get 10 bucks and try to make it last the night. To this day, I still think World Heroes is one of the most underrated fighters. The death match mode (which was a spin off of the Japanese death match wrestling company FMV) was so nuts back then!!

In present day, I am a proud owner of my own Neo Geo MVS 4 slot arcade cab. Hail Neo Geo!!!

Also checked out part 2,

Just like Johnny said, how can your own a Neo Geo system and not own World Heroes. I played WH2 so much in the arcade by my house, it's got charm and is tons of fun.

I'm lucky enough to have the Top Hunter ROM cart, and it is a blast to play. The one thing I love about most Neo Geo games has always been two-player co-op play.
