So I picked up a 3D TV a few weeks back. Not really having time to play games during the break but tonight I gathered all my 3D enabled games and started trying them out. I can honestly say I don't feel 3D is a gimmick in games. I can live without it in Movies... but games... I don't know if I can go back.

TV is a Vizio 42" FPR.

So the games I've tested out so far:

Gran Tourismo 5. Pretty good though your eyes do need to adjust to driving in 3D fast. The weather effects were out standing and I liked the HUD in 3D. It did actually feel more realistic.

Socom 4. Simply. Stunning. Default settings were tame, but when I cranked it up to full blast in the options menu the game popped. It doesn't try to bring the screen out at you but like avatar the bring you in and make the 3D give depth to everything. It simply looks gorgeous.

Killzone 3. My roommate walked out of the room when he saw this... cussing all the fiber in my being. The graphics look great in 3D.

I still have to put in Batman AC but I am going to hold off until I finish Batman AS. Tron is next. Then Enslaved. I think I am going to have to look up all the 3D enabled games and make a list!

I haven't seen too much to discourage the use of this technology for games. The TV was a steal and even in 2D mode it is a great picture. Sony has a ringer here. If they can only push the 3D TV's price down they could really push the PS3 more than they do. Its a lost opportunity imo.

If only skyrim and dark souls were in 3d =/

I think most, if not all of the HD Collections have 3D Capabilities. I know Sly Cooper and Prince of Persia do for sure.

God of War collection doesn't. But the God of War Origins does.

Heck I have a lot more 3D games than I thought actually. Pretty nice bonus if you ask me.

I will be testing out the 3d capabilities of the PS3 soon (I hope). I asked for the PS3 3D TV for Christmas, and I am almost positive my mom bought it for me.
