NFL Playoff Thread; So with the playoffs going on

So with the wild card games starting to be played, with the Texans and the Saints moving to the next round. Today the Giants and the Falcons are about to head into half time with a 2-7 Giants up and the Broncos will square off against the Steelers in the Mile High city. What are your guys thought on this. Here is the thread where I will post up to the Superbowl. Broncos game is about to begin the pre game. Till then Marmul Out!

I think the AFC championship will be Patriots vs Ravens and the NFC championship will be Saints vs Packers. @5GameSuicide Posts: 664 Group: Members Member #4,248 Joined: Sep 8, 2011	yeah right now the falcons have fallen apart, i would say steelers over broncos BUT i think with the rough shape the steelers are in i saw the Denver Tebows pull this one out for a miraculous win. The pats and steelers will be the divisional game if the steelers win today. the other AFC divisional game will be houston and baltimore. So the AFC championship will be either Patriot/steeler or Broncos VS Houston VS Baltimore. i say Houston VS New England. Now the NFC on the other hand the divisional games are New Orleans VS San Fransisco and New York Giants VS Green Bay. Now for the NFC Championship i think it will be 49ers ( :P) VS Packers.

The refs did their best to hand that game to the Steelers (backwards pass anyone?), but the Broncos pulled it out in the end. Ravens are the healthiest team in the playoffs and Houston, well they are probably the most injured (now that the Steelers are gone). I'm a Ravens fan btw. Arian Foster is amazing, but I have to go with my gut/heart and say Ravens. The Pats are gonna destroy the Broncos, sorry Tebow nation. Saints over San Fran simply because I don't think anyone can stop Brees and company. Giants over Packers. This isn't a very sexy pick, but the Giants can run AND pass while playing above average D. The Pack can't. Pats will beat my Ravens unless they pull their own version of Tebow time and the Saints will dominate the Giants, giving us a Pats vs Saints Super Bowl. Saints win 45-38.

Vidya Games Posts: 194 Group: Members Member #2,372 Joined: Jul 21, 2010	Thoughts on the Denver- Steelers game (I might get grilled for this) Let me first say that I'm not a Tebow hater by any means but I wasn't really impressed. He did do better than I thought he was going to do but he was making basic throws that pretty much any QB in the NFL is able to complete. Credit should go to the offensive line who gave him all the time in the world to throw. On top of that, Thomas absolutely exposed Ike Taylor all game and was wide open multiple times. Besides the outstanding offensive line play I thought Denver's offensive coordinator Mike McCoy completely out-coached Dick LeBeau. ATL- Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White, Michael Turner and they can't put up a single point on offense in the playoffs? Pretty embarrassing. Matty Ice is walking on thin ice IMO. --------------------------- Patriots over Broncos- Even though NE's secondary is terrible I just don't see how the Broncos can go score for score with the Patriots in the Meadowlands. That offense is just too potent. Saints over 49ers- I think this one could be a closer game than some may think. The 49ers have the best defense in the league with a solid secondary but I think Brees has too many weapons to work with and will pull away in the 4th. Ravens over Texans- Tough one. Both have strong defenses and very good running backs. I think the Ravens are the more experienced team and playing at home will help. Being a Vikings fan I hope that the Giants win. I don't think GBs defense is all that. They have many cracks in their secondary and Manning could hurt them. Same can be said for Mr. Discount Double Check. I'll go with Giants though on the road.

The broncos, I only have an intrest in them cause I have the broadcast the games on the radio. But I had a feeling they were going to win, just cause the steelers were all beat up and tebow can pull off some huge things at home. Texans and baltimore: how much I would like to see the texans win I think that ravens have it just cause their d is great. And the texans are the only team in the playoffs playing their 3rd string rookie QB and that is going to hurt them. BAL wins but it will be close SF And NO: I'm a niner fan so I'll say SF but I do have stuff to back it up, yes no doubt the saints are a great team but they only play lights out when it's in a dome... Or their dome, when it comes to outdoor stadiums they get lack luster, candlestick park is...you guessed it, an outside arena. SF wins but it won't be easy NE and Den: NE wins but I see the broncos putting up points. They didn't do bad last time they played in yardage wise and points. They coughed up the ball too many times and that cost them the game. Manège the ball and the broncos might have a chance. Still NE wins! NY and GB: yes the pack are good, but there is something I like about the g men doing what they do best. Clutch moment wins. And when it comes the GB defence it's not all that good, on the other hand, the pack can't run the ball, their o line is beat up, and Mr Dancer can only do so much, the giants d is healthy and ready to go. I say upset giants top packers in Lambo. That be the games bitches, we will see how this goes in divisional playoffs. Till then Marmul Out!

I grew up in New Orleans and have been a life long Saints fan! There is NO WAY we lose to you guys. Even with your stout D there is simply no way Alex Smith can keep up with Drew Brees.

The Saints lost to the Rams this year. Joking aside, the Saints run defense has really done a better job of late. They are currently ranked 12th against the run. 108.6 yards per game. Not bad, not great. I really like the 49ers defense but the Saints have one of the best lines in the league. It will be tough to get pressure on Brees. The 49ers offense ranked 30th in the red zone and 31st on 3rd down conversions. Frank Gore has only had 7 runs of more than 10 yards in the last 6 games. Take away the 37 yard run against the Cardinals and he's only averaged 3.3 yards per carry since the Thanksgiving game. I'll take the Saints.

Posts: 450 Group: Members Member #4,243 Joined: Sep 6, 2011	There are a couple teams in the playoffs that lost to teams they shouldn't have (Packers<Cheifs, Ravens<Jags, Saints<Rams/Bucs). Every dog has his day ... Being a Ravens fan, I'm actually rooting for the Niners as well (Harbaughs FTW!), but with the blocking scheme that the Saints are using, I don't see anyone, other than maybe the Giants, getting pressure on Brees. They use RB's and TE's to chip the DE's as they come off the ball almost every passing play, which gives Brees another second or two in the pocket. That's an eternity. Defense wins championships so I don't see either the packers or Patriots winning the Superbowl. I've been a Broncos and Giants fan my whole life(Yeah it's a weird combo but a long story) so my dream superbowl would be Broncos vs Giants. AFC CHAMPIONSHIP: BALTIMORE AT NEW ENGLAND well this will be a doozy as well. That offense is going to be Putting up points but the Baltimore defense isnt going to make it easy. And the patriots d isn't all that good so with ray rice running and the threat of flacco making plays the defense won't be able to hole the ravens to 10 points like they did to the broncos. The Giants are good but they are inconsistent I think that the 49ers will pull off the win. My dream superbowl: Ravens vs. 49ers that would be sick to see the harboughs go at it.

See the Giants and 49ers are pretty much the same as you said but Eli is a much better Quarterback then Alex Smith and I feel that will be why the Giants win, plus Eli's done this before while this is Alex Smiths 2nd playoff game ever. Can't wait though gotta love the NFL playoffs.

I just know that they are more up and down than the Niners are, the Niners have been more consistant preformance than the Giants have been.
