Posts: 2,001 Group: Moderator Member #980 Joined: Jul 10, 2009 Currently Playing Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Dorrs Twitter @eSkilliam	So I am going back to college to finish my IT bachelors degree, and eventually get some certifications as well. Focusing on just the degree for now, I can take several different concentrations. The ones I am currently looking into are Advanced Networking, Software Engineering, Web Development, and Information System Security/Network Security. I'm thinking that Security might be the best way to go. It is only a difference of 5 classes near the end of the degree, but I'm trying to get different opinions. I'm almost not considering Software Engineering because I don't want to be a programmer. I hear Security is the up and coming part of the field to go into, but I know there is a strong job market for Networking and Web development sounds, well... fun... I don't need the degree for a job because I am in a good career, but I wouldn't mind it being marketable down the road. Any ideas?

Hurf n' Durf Inc. Posts: 1,480 Group: Members Member #1,443 Joined: Dec 14, 2009	Hmm. Bear in mind, you need to always keep your skills fresh in the IT field. 5 years is a lifetime if you're not keeping up to date. But IT will drain the shit outta you. So make sure you're doing something you enjoy!

I know what I'm getting into, and this is more of a hobby for me at the moment than a career, and probably will never become a career, but in the event it does, I would like myself to be the most marketable that I can be in the IT field.
