I found 2 PC games at a Goodwill and from what I've played, they are fun. What are some other PC games, mostly RPG, not ones like Rollar Coaster Tycoon. Thanks... here's the link to see what else i got from the Goodwill: http://www.youtube.com/user/JohntheGameCollector?feature=mhee

Man you just asked one of the broadest questions in gaming. What exact type of game are you looking for? Combat System, setting, story strength, modern or older?

By the way, welcome to the big leagues my friend :).

Heeeey. Nothing wrong with Roller Coaster Tycoon (well 1 and 2 at least). That game was awesome. Just makes me miss my old Gateway desktop even more :'(

Oh and PS.... Diablo 2. There's a reason why I still play it both online and offline :)

RPGs: Fallout 1 & 2, Flallout 3, Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, 4: Oblivion, 5: Skyrim. Don't be afraid of MMOs, they can be fun so give a free trial try of World of Warcraft. If you want a retro-funny RPG, go on steam and get the Cthulu Saves the World with Breath of Death pack. There are also some good D&D games on the PC, like Neverwinter Nights.

Honestly though, all you need is those Elder Scrolls games. There are a ton of mods you can get for them on PC too, even some completely new games based on them (at least for Oblivion)

Shooting: For first-person-shooters, I love Call of Duty 2 for an engulfing WW2 experience. You can also have competitive fun with Team Fortress 2, Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3. For classic fun shooting, you should definitely play the Quake and Doom series.
For shoot-em-up shooters: Jamestown is a great indie shmup done in a cave-style. You can also get into those Touhou games. There's a ton of free shmups out there too. One I particularly like is called Cho Ren Sha 68k.

Thank you to everyone for these awesome suggestions! Now I have a pretty good idea of where to start on getting into PC games. BTW is the game Diablo 2 any good? I saw it at a flea market complete for $10 with the strategy guide and I was thinking of picking it up after I did a little bit of research on it.

You definitely can't go wrong with Diablo 2! Excellent game.

However you can get the Diablo Battlechest which has Diablo, Diablo 2 and the strategy guides for both games for $20 just about anywhere.
This also ensure the serial number will be unused so there's no need to worry about someone kicking you off an online game by trying to use the same code.

If you're okay with digital distribution, get a Steam account, and wait for their sales. Can get really good, often recent games at insane discounts. They have two massive sales per year, once in the summer, and another heading into Christmas. It's one of the cheapest ways to get really good games on the PC at really good prices.

/agree

Steam has amazing sales during the summer and throughout the year. I got a pack of like 30 games for $50 around the time of Quakecon. A lot of them were games still selling for $20 or more in the stores. Some of them were old favorites. It's worth checking every day to see if there are new sales.

Half-Life 2 with episodes 1 and 2 and Team Fortress 2 are essential of you enjoy shooters. Also check out the Humble Bundle Indie Pack. They do those every once in a while and you can pay as much as you want for some great games
