Dusting your gameroom.......

Any gamer who collects games/systems, figures, etc. knows that the dust that forms on shelfs and on the figures themselves are such a pain in the ass. I wanna know how often do you dust your gameroom? What are some ways to prevent the dust from accumulating on the figures and games. Thanks.

I usually get the Clorox disinfecting wipes (2 wipes to be specific) one the take the dust off the shelves and one to clean spot that i missed and a swiffer duster on game &/or figure if you have any also have a microfiber mat/sponge for the Tv's and consoles and other things its collects dust like a vacuum i do it every 2 weeks more or less..

Vacuum. Your carpet acts as a filter for all the air in your house. If the outside climate isn't too bad, open your windows every now and then. Drapes also help, and can be taken down easily and thrown in the washer. Ceiling fans help as well by circulating the air, further making your carpet and drapes more effective. Those items also add to the acoustics of the room, making any sound system you have sound better.

I have hardwood floors so it's not that bad as far as dust is concerned, get a TV cabinet for your systems, perhaps one made of glass so you can display your systems in all their glory without the pain of having to dust off all the time. And specifically get DVD shelves, the game cases fit in there without leaving much room for dust to collect. When it comes to game cartridges, do the same as with the DVD cases, place them so there's little room for air, so dust doesn't collect, and obviously place the open end of the cartridges inward.

thanks for all the suggestions. IDK for some reason whenever I see dust I'm always afraid that the system is going to break. Whenever I feel my shelfs they always feel moist, not wet but kinda moist, but i think it's just because i keep my gameroom cold. BTW is it ok for dust to be on boxs like special editions or just boxes in general. Will the dust damage the boxes or should I be dusting more often?

If your shelves are feeling moist then the room is too cold. Damp can set in, and that will really damage your games and systems.

I've had copy of Arena and Daggerfall on my shelves for close to 20 years, both are in their original cardboard boxes, and have been exposed to plenty of dust over the years, and they're still in prestine condition.

Dust buster, vacuum cleaner, electronic cleaner/wipes (Endust, etc.), and brooms. I don't do it enough though. I really need to work on that.

I know plenty of people that prefer stuff to be dusty, myself included, because no one has damaged anything because they don't know how or what to use to clean, etc.
