The stickers. I only ever go to places like that to peak in the bargain bin for used stuff that is hard to find. Sure I might find Culdcept Saga or something, but I'll be spending the better part of a week trying to get those blasted stickers off without leaving glue or dents somewhere on the case.

Yeah, Gamestop is pathetic.
I remember one time I went there so many years ago(I think 2004) I was going there to buy a game and the cashier asked if I wanted to pre-order the original Fable for the XBox. Then he goes on about how it would be so revolutionary to the RPG genre and how great it would be, blahblah.
I just said no. Thank god because it didn't turn out to be as good as he said. SO he ranged the game up, I paid for it and left.
I'm wondering, how much did the store pay him to say those things and how would he know if the game is good or not?
What a tool...but I have to sympathize with the employees. I bet working there feels like you have a sniper rifle aimed at your head if you don't follow the policy.

Anyway, I went there recently only because a friend gave me a $50 gift card to spend there.

There used game sales are probably what contributed to the decision of companies making the online pass as far as I know.

The title should be "What isn't bad about Gamestop". Please stick to local stores or the internet fellow gamers

what really make my blood boil about gamestop is the nerve the have on trying to pass USED games for new games. A while back i went in there to buy a copy of Alan Wake. I went to the counter and told the employee that i wanted a new copy of Alan Wake. He proceeded to go in the back and bring back a disc, just the disc no case cover art instruction or anything he told me they misplace the case but were willing to sell me just the disc. I said i was not willing to pay over 60 dollar for a used case-less game.

Well. Recently, I kind of had problems with an unenthusiastic employee, but it was similar to the attitudes I'm accustomed to from the employees of independent coffee shops. Like the apathetic, I-would-rather-be-anywhere-but-here look. But it's kind of understandable as working at somewhere like a coffee shop or Gamestop is hectic.

That really depends on the store and who runs it. The one I (reluctantly) visit used to be great. Unfortunately they ran off the General Manager and the store has been in decline ever since. I used to come home with free stuff all the time, and I was genuinely friends with the employees there. Unfortunately I think a bad store is the norm, instead of the exception, in GameStop's case. I'll only visit my local store if I know one of the few good employees is there that day. Not even worth the time.
