Publisher Sega will release a sequel to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing this holiday season, Kotaku has learned.

Toys associated with the franchise were displayed in a booth at the Toy Fair in New York this Sunday, where an attendant confirmed that Sega is making a sequel to the franchise-crossing kart racing game. There will be new characters and vehicles revealed later this year.

Gameplay was good but it lacked what I wanted.
There was few in the way of characters or references. Courses were Sonic mostly a couple "Curion Masion"(I think that's what they called them, it was House of the Dead), JSRF and a Samba De Amigo.
I hope to god there is more of other characters in the sequal rather than "Sonic all the way...maybe one or two others". They had Mobo and Robo and nothing else Bonanza Bros...it upset me...

In short, Sega, less Sonic, more others. (I like Sonic but I've seen enough of him)

Needs some Phantasy Star stuff, felt very missing from the last game. Put that in and I will be very happy.

Oh man, I haven't even played the first game. Well that's going to change. I'm going to buy a copy of that game now, but there are so many versions of it. Which one should I buy?

Alright, I finally got my hands on the Xbox 360 version as MrTechnoSqueek suggested. My verdict: This game is fantastic! The tracks in this game are crazy and they are very fun to drive through, and with any crossover game, I look to see who much crossover value it has and this game has far surpassed my exceptions. This is the Smash Bros. of racing games I tell you. The sequel just has to surpass the crossover value of the first. It has to!
