I know this sort of topic comes up plenty on the interwebs, but why not get one going here where we can mention some snazzy game music that we like, and possibly introduce each other to some tunes, artists, etc that we may not otherwise have known about. I'll get the ball rolling, and will just skip past the obvious stuff like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Ridge Racer, et al and go with some possibly lesser known pieces.

Senko no Ronde
My first suggestion is the Senko no Ronde series. It started out in the arcades, and eventually went to the 360 (used to be able to get it on XBLA in North America, but no more). It combined a shmup with a fighting game, and had a great many mechas in it. The music itself is fantastic. Great instrumentation with a jazzy electronic feel to it. I actually get a strong Phantasy Star Online vibe from the tunes.

Demetori Touhou Project Covers
Looking at the sheer number of fan created media for the Touhou Project series can be mind boggling (they made a high production value anime with actual voice actresses from various animes and video games for crying out loud!). My absolute favorite to come out of this community is Demetori, who do hard rock covers of the various games' soundtracks, and their takes on this stuff is amazing. If you like the soundtracks of Lords of Thunder or Ginga Fukei Densetsu, you should definitely check these guys out.

Shatter
Who knew such a revision on the old Breakout standard of game could turn out to be so fun? What helped to cement my enjoyment of the game was it's electronic music. One of my favorite soundtracks from an indie game in recent years.

Anyway, I'll leave it at that for now. May edit later to add other stuff when I have time. But yeah, what other stuff do you all recommend? Let's spread the word about as much music as we can. ^_^
