Can anyone on here fix GameGear screen or can it even be done. I don't often see them around here and I recently got one in a lot that has a bad screen (have to look at it from a weird angle). If anyone knows how let me know. I might even pay to have you fix it or if anyone could give me any info on how to do so myself. |

Its a common fault in Game Gears, the screen gradually goes white and the speakers give up. This is all due to the capacitors that were used at the time, its believed there were a bad batch made and the gamegear got a whole bunch of them ![]() this is the kit i bought, it comes with all the caps and detailed instruction on how to repair the sound an video... LINK There are numerous videos on youtube showing you how to fix the problem, though if you arent skilled with a soldering iron i would probably ask someone that is. There may be better vids out there. but this is the one i watched. Its not the hardest fix in the world, but it may be more of a pain than its worth for some. I hope this helped though, seems to sad to laet a great console sit in that kind of condition.

Thank you this is very helpful I'll have to try this. I'm pretty good at soldering so this should be a problem. Just have to pick up the parts. Thanks again. |
