I think many of us can agree, as we get older we appreciate great short games. I am a huge RPG fan, but these huge time investments start to take a toll on me. Some of the greatest games can accomplish the same emotional impact or whatever impact it wants to achieve in a fraction of the time of some long games. Look at Chrono Trigger or Suikoden in the rpg department. Those games aren't extremely long, but are considered some of the best in the genre. Tons of games don't need a 20-30 hour mid section of "finding X components" or whatever story element that could have its fat trimmed and still have the same results. So I made this thread so people can post some of the best short games they have ever played. I am always up for a short game because frankly it isn't a huge time investment, but I get a lot of satisfaction out of it. The Uncharted Series is one I can recommend. Games are all short, but almost every moment is great. The definition of a lean mean fighting machine game with no needed added fat. |

Games like Vanquish and Bayonetta are pretty short, although they have no multiplayer. But this isn't a bad thing. They are also really cheap. |

Thanks for reminding me about these two games :). Will be picking them up when I get the chance. |

No problem, I second Mirrors Edge, good game, really, really cheap. If you are into shumps, Game are selling Deathsmiles Deluxe Edition for £4.99. It's really good and will only take 40 minutes tops to complete. There's high replay value too. |

There's House of the Dead, Panzer Dragoon Orta.. Which are relatively short. Pokemon Snap was a very short game, but I enjoyed the time I had playing the game. Then there's the original Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, Rogue Squadron for the Gamecube, which were all pretty short in comparison to most games. Of course, any contra game, I probably beat shattered soldier in an hour or two. Today Journey has been released, which I believe will probably be short. |

Yup! Nailed it, some of the best games this gen by far. I really enjoyed Heavenly Sword a lot even though the combat got a bit repetitive. Crackdown 1 was another really great game that you could beat in 5 hours, but I had a blast with it in co-op and collecting the orbs scattered throughout the city. More recently I'd say Syndicate, and The Darkness 2 both of which were fantastic single player games! Edited by NinjaPenguin8969, Mar 13 2012, 11:46 PM.
