I'm 15 and currently looking for a job..... any suggestions on where to look? I'm not sure whether I should try a deli, McDonalds, Gamestop or something. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Best suggestion, apply everywhere and anywhere you'd even remotely consider working. Take a day to go around town filling out applications everywhere and asking people you know. |

At your age I worked in a grocery store stocking shelfs and what-not. The job didn't pay much but I did start dating a hot chick that worked there. In college I worked at McDonalds and Burger King. It was really nasty but I got to eat a ton of free food.

I'm 15 about to be 16 but I've done like general labor around my area since I was like 12. Now being able to do more as I'm a bit bigger than most average adults I'm able to do more physically and now work on a plantation/farm and am working for $9 an hour tax free. The only down side is it's a season job so in the winter and spring I don't have much extra money to spend. But, it still works out good because I end up working about 30-35 hours a week so I put a little away to keep me with some money in my off months. |

Avoid fast food at all cost! I Work at MacDonald when i was 15, pay suck, work suck, hours sucks (they expect you to give up your whole life to them) customer are a pain (seriously some people expect gourmet food from the dollar menu) and the manager are dicks. Fast food mangers are the worst bosses i ever had they take there job way to serious and they have a superiority complex like there better than you or something. Get a job at a grocery store or at the mall anywhere but fast food. |

If you did have to work with food, work at pizza hut. Really flexible hours usually hire great staff...and if your gonna get any food for free it may as well be pizza! |

When I was 15 I worked at grocery store for a couple of months. I applied there and they just handed me a job as a cashier. It was minimum wage of course, but they paid the cashier slightly more than people moving around the carts outside. But I really hated working as cashier because of how you always had someone to check out, so you never had any time to stretch or take a breather. I later was demoted to pushing carts because I became very apathetic and started taking my time checking people out.. And to be honest, pushing carts and doing that sort of busy work is so much easier, despite being paid a little bit less. So if you plan to work at a store, see how busy the store is before applying for a job as cashier. |

I worked as a bagger for a supermarket as my first job. I honestly had a major problem working for someone, in general, so I thought it was terrible lol. It was alright in all honesty, but I'd never do it again. I'd apply anywhere that you'd consider unless you have someone who will "put in a good word for you." I've seen many people get hired at some place that they want to because they knew someone who recommended them that already works there. |

I could never find a job when I was 15. I was doing landscaping and other paid yard work with my dad around that age. If I were you I'd find a pal to partner with and find yard works, there's always people who would want their yard to be cleaned. It sounds like an awful job, but pretty much every job you will get in your lifetime you will consider awful. At your age, you can't be choosy as well. |

I worked at a grocery store at 15. I worked my butt off but was treated like dirt, but it felt good to make money. Even better when you can put a lot aside and still be able to buy nice things, like three-disc CD changer boom box, although the younger generation might not appreciate those things these days, but they were popular back then. I learned not to buy expensive, important things from Walmart after that though. You could barely hear it, the spinning disc tray was faulty nearly from the start; took forever to listen to a disc. And when I finally opened it up (big as it was), I found it was mostly hollow. They might as well have made it into a mini boom box. Big rip off. I blew a lot on money on that garbage. If you do spend any of that money, please research first. |
